History
The Rosebud is a Listed race run under Quality Handicap conditions for three year olds usually run at Rosehill conducted by the Australian Turf Club.
The Rosebud is run over 1100m and is the first of the lead up races to the Golden Rose. Previous runnings have been at 1200m.
It was first run in 2011 and won by Aeronautical.
She's A Fox was the only filly to win The Rosebud until Tiz Invincible in 2023.
Hugh Bowman has won a couple of runnings of The Rosebud as has Kerrin McEvoy, Tommy Berry, Brenton Avdulla but James McDonald has most wins with 3.
Menari has carried the most weight at 60.5kg.
They ran the 2021 edition at Randwick due to coronavirus protocol restrictions.
The 2025 Rosebud was run for prizemoney of $200,000.
