Brendan Ward is regarded as one of the leading riders in Southern New South Wales, a multiple Canberra premiership winner.

Ward first rode over a 100 winners in a season in 2011/12 when notching up 101, finishing fifth in the NSW jockeys premiership, second to only Greg Ryan in the country premiership.

In 2009 Brendan Ward secured his first feature race aboard Macknuckle in the Wagga Gold Cup, moving to Canberra in 2010 where he has established himself as the leading rider in the ACT.
