Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 03.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown Hillside, Ipswich, Belmont and Morphettville.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 4 @ 3:20 PM
TUILERIES (4) was left with too much to do as favourite first-up at Rosehill then struggled on a bog last time. Drops back to midweek company and gets firmer footing which is a big tick. Class runner who should account for these if anywhere near her best. HURRY MISS (5) is airborne at the provincials, bolting in last start over this distance at Newcastle in heavy going. Yet to miss a cheque in six starts including a couple on top of the ground. Looks ready to tackle this grade. MAYBE MOET (10) has found the line with purpose in two runs this prep, both over shorter trips. Lightly raced mare who finds the ideal assignment here. Italian import RING TRUE (2) has placed at Group Three level. Has trialled three times since landing in the Price/Kent yard. Watch the betting. The talented JUST A JOURNEY (8) is well found in early markets and can play a big role first-up from a spell.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Tuileries.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM
MALLETIER (8) was beaten just 1.3L here first-up in stronger and then raced favourite this grade and pulled up with an issue. He's back after 20 days with the blinkers applied for the first time. Shinn sticks aboard and will use the inside gate to advantage. BARBARIC LAD (6) resumes and is right up to this if presented forward. His jumpouts suggest he will be, and his lead-up form is all in tougher class. EL TERCERO (7) resumes and he was shooting for a hat trick in an Open 3 at Moonee Valley when last seen. His Cranbourne jumpouts have been sharp and he's got plenty of scope for improvement. TRAPEZE WARRIOR (5) brings strong form at 70 level to resumption and has won 2/2 fresh. He's looked tuned up at the jumpouts and will push forward. He also has claims.
SELECTIONS: Backing Malletier.
IPSWICH: RACE 2 @ 1:53 PM
IMMEDIATE (4) is unlucky to still be a maiden hitting the top-five in all five starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Will be ready to peak now third-up from the spell and Thompson sticks following that last-start placing. Rates the testing material. ELLTITUDE (3) wasn't too far away on debut at the Gold Coast before being tipped out for further time to furnish. Gets the reliable Vandyke/Maloney combination and looms as the main danger. The well-related BOMBARD (2) (half to 2xG2 winner Cifrado) gets 1.5kg off from the inside alley and will be cherry-ripe now. Top-three aspirations. ABSOLUTELYSMASHING (1) is facing the starter for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and any market confidence must be noted. OUTCRY (11) gets in light with the claim and may trouble the judge with the right run in transit.
SELECTIONS: Immediate to shed the maiden tag.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 6 @ 6:55 PM
NOBLE CONNECTION (2) stepped up to 2200m last start and didn't see out the extra journey, settling last and never getting into the race. Back to this trip looks a good move and he's back to midweek company as well. CJP sticks and everything points to a forward showing. STATE OF FURY (11) just missed at Pinjarra a fortnight ago when being there to win on straightening. Brad Parnham hops back in the saddle today, replacing the apprentice hoop and she draws a better gate this time. Wouldn't surprise to see him go one better. BECALOTTI (3) will be fitter for her last start effort over the mile here 18 days ago and should relish the drop back to Midweek company. She boasts a strong third-up record and looks to get every chance from the draw. Hard to go past. IDYLLIC RULER (1) is better than he showed last start and can feature on his prior form. KEGGS LATER (7) was very impressive first-up at Pinjarra and can build on that performance.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Noble Connection.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 5:00 PM
Tricky way to the finish the card, albeit it's a race with a long tail. TAMETOMO (14) has drawn perfectly and will only carry 51.5kg after the claim. He was poor last start but his prior run in stronger grade would give him a strong chance in this and he looks very well in at the weights. He can fight out the finish. BREAK THE TABOO (3) has more upside than most of his rivals. Again, he was poor last start but he beat the talented Anthacite earlier in the campaign. A repeat of that maiden will see him go close to winning again. UNISPHERE (4) must be some chance of winning back-to-back races. Like he did at Port Augusta, he will roll forward and take some catching. GOGOLF GURU (12) and SPELMAN (6) are horses that don't win out of turn but they are both racing well enough to be considered as legitimate top three chances.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tametomo each-way.
