Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 25.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Geelong, Echuca, Sunshine Coast, Broome and Canberra.
GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 2:10 PM
FOIRE DE TRONE (7) ran on well over 1400m fresh and found one better. Fitter and extra trip is a big plus. Goes close again. VINCENTINA (10) ran a much improved race latest and came home hard to finish runner-up. Building to a win and looks suited stretching out in journey. Go well. LOWESTOFT (8) turned in a strong debut when runner-up over seven furlongs. Has upside and should relish the extra ground. Won't be a maiden long. FIRST INFANTRY (3) has been placed last two here at this course in similar races. Blinkers go on this time and will take running down. BEARBRASSBLACKFISH (1) gets blinkers on for the first time and might be the big improver.
SELECTIONS: Follow up on Foire De Trone.

ECHUCA: RACE 9 @ 3:55 PM
BRENLYN'S TROOPER (14) responded to a heavy track at Kilmore beaten just 1L in a 58. That sets him up well for this and he maps for the run of the race. Keeps King and is the one to beat. BEAUNIFIED (1) will be sharper second-up and rates to be right in it. Berriman is reunited and he should enjoy the run of the race. OWL WITNESS (4) has been racing well without winning. Drops back plenty in grade off a solid run at Mildura and if the inside barrier is managed, he can get some of the better cash. CHAIRMAN'S CHOICE (2) gives away starts but has pieces of form that would see him competitive. The veteran should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Brenlyn's Trooper appeals most.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM
COOL MOON (9) is unlucky to still be a maiden hitting the top-four in all five starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Looks very hard to toss despite the awkward draw. GO MARO (3) wasn't too far off them in town at the latest effort and is sure to appreciate the drop back in grade. Will be rock-hard fit for this and is likely to play a big role. SPOT THE AUSSIE (6) placed over this distance range last time out and must be respected from the Vandyke yard. Top-three aspirations. MISHANI GLAZE (11) has hit the frame at the past couple and gets in light with the 2kg claim. May earn some minor money again. TOI TOI (15) has placed around this circuit and looks one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Cool Moon to break through.
BROOME: RACE 2 @ 2:44 PM
APHRODITE MAGIC (2) broke her maiden in good style at Northam two back before a disappointing effort up in trip last start where she pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia. Back to 1200m today looks ideal and the rating from her maiden win stacks right up. Can bounce back in a big way. MAKE YOUR POINT (7) tired here last start when leading the field in a BM58+ after a good performance in a BM50+ as favourite. The inside draw is a big tick for his chances and Yuill hops back on board. Expecting him to return to his best. THE TOP BAR (1) tired late first-up at Northam over 1000m and has since switched stables and made the trek to Broome. The 2kg claim comes in handy and if she can hold her form up north, she'll be right in the finish. PACIFIC LADY (9) bumped into one here last start and should relish the rise in trip. Include. LIGHTNING GOLD (4) can improve back in trip.
SELECTIONS: Backing Aphrodite Magic.
CANBERRA ACTON: RACE 4 @ 2:40 PM
FINE VINTAGE (1) needed the first-up outing before leading and winning here this grade easily over 1000m. Carries more weight but maps well, and Heywood stays aboard. Proven third-up and the longer sprint suits him just as well. MISSILE LEADER (3) resumed on the heavy at Kembla Grange in a 64 and looked a run short. He has been freshened and has plenty up his sleeve. Gets in well at this level with Bronett Prag's 1.5kg claim atop, and he should be wound right up. Feared. VELLA MAGIC (4) led and missed 1L in an Albury 66 and races well on this surface. Tumbles in weight, and that brings her into it. MARSABIT (2) has raced well enough in town this preparation and is likely to go better back to a sprint.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Fine Vintage.
