Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 24.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Wyong, Cairns, Corowa, Warrnambool and Northam.
WYONG: RACE 5 @ 2:50 PM
CELTIC SIN (5) comes here in peak condition fifth up after having mixed success this time in. Three weeks between runs in the heavy (8) going when a plugging fourth over 1550m at Canterbury. Regular rider sticks and her maiden victory came over this track and trip. Expected to race closer today. CHEEKY DANCER (7) races best with her runs spaced and registered her first win with a gritty nose victory over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Gets weight relief with the claim and expected to go on with it now. CALIFORNIA SECRET (2) progressive gelding heading in the right direction. Drifted back in a slowly run contest when a fighting second over 1400m at Newcastle. Top three player with fitness on his side. SERENE NIC (6) kept fresh when getting out of her ground for a disappointing ninth over 1550m at Canterbury. Blinkers go on and capable of better in this company.
SELECTIONS: Celtic Sin to bounce back.

CAIRNS: RACE 3 @ 2:22 PM
The well-related PEROVIC (3) (half to 2xG1 winner King's Legacy) has hit a purple patch of form of late winning two of his past three and is racing with a lot of confidence. Winning rider Cormack sticks in the saddle and should give this a mighty shake. BOLD FEELING (6) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and four placings from nine attempts. Rates among the leading hopes. OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (2) was a touch plain last time out but go on the strong Mareeba win two back. Worth another chance. MEDAL (5) is drawn to get a soft run from the inside marble and looks one for the exotics players. MERRY OLD SOUL (7) rounds out the selections.
SELECTIONS: Perovic to continue the rich vein of form.
COROWA: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM
HELLINDA (3) was an easy CL1 winner at Moruya back to form and then wasn't far away at Narrandera. 2x winning rider Boudvillian is reunited, and the gelding is well placed to bounce back. JUST GOOGLE ME (1) also rates well and is busting to win. Went close in an 82 at Wagga before being outgraded at Stakes level at Flemington. Peaks and Heywood goes aboard. LOCH ERIN (6) is in a sharp stable and can build on the Goulburn placing. Has the early speed to manage the awkward barrier. SUPER SUNNY SEEYA (10) was back to his best, narrowly defeated as favourite at Kilmore on a heavy track. Fitter and only has to hold the form to threaten.
SELECTIONS: Backing Hellinda.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
BRAVE ACTION (1) has been racing in better classes and was narrowly beaten in a 70 at Sandown Hillside last time. Presents on an 8-day return with a handy 1.5kg claim, and draws to advantage. He's the one they have to beat. GRASSMERE DIAMOND (4) has been nudged out twice at Mt Gambier since the Hamilton win. She's likely to skip over and ride the speed and shouldn't be underestimated. SOUTHERN CRESCENT (12) resumes and is proven fresh. She ran well in decent metro races last preparation and Meech sticks aboard. Will be naturally improved and has strong claims. COOL AS ICE (10) has to manage a wide barrier but is heading in the right direction and should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Brave Action to win.
NORTHAM: RACE 6 @ 5:07 PM
SETAGAYA (7) just got too far back last start, finishing 1.2L away after flashing home from the back of the pack. Now out to the mile and drawn better, this race sets up perfectly for her with Pike remaining in the saddle. She continues to improve and if she continues on that trajectory, she can return to winning ways. ANNIE WARBUCKS (4) scored a good win here two back before trying her hand in the Belmont Oaks last start. She was outclassed there, but looks well placed in this event on her prior form. The draw is sticky, but with a touch of luck she's likely to be in the finish. DECISION MAKER (1) scored a good win here a fortnight ago to break his maiden, running on strongly from beyond midfield. Now third-up and with improvement to come, e can put himself into the finish yet again. METALIC MARLIN (2) was too good on the Fibre Sand last start and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Setagaya is the one to beat.
