Winning Trainer: Chris Waller
On the win: "He loves Rosehill. It was a lovely ride from James to park him so close.'
"The race was his for the taking at the 400-metre mark. He got out and he stuck solid all the way to the line. It was a good win."
Epsom a possibility? (note: media personality Richard Callander is a part-owner): "There are some pretty influential owners in the horse who like to have their say and I respect their say. They know what they're talking about. So we will see what they've got to say, otherwise it's back here for the Alan Brown in a couple of weeks, which is a good prizemoney race too."
On the state of racing in Sydney: "We're so lucky in Sydney fifty-two weeks of the year. You can choose between the Epsom and the Alan Brown, which is a million dollar race. You name it, there are a host of options and we're blessed."
"There has been a bit of in-house fighting. We just need to regroup and say, 'we've got an amazing industry, we're all proud of it and keep going strong'. Everybody around the world talks about how good racing in Sydney is."
Winning Jockey: James McDonald
On the run: "Yeah he did. He was very interested, he travelled really kindly throughout and just needed a bit of luck at the top of the straight. We got that and he showed a good turn of foot and he was never really in doubt. He handled the conditions well."
On what's next in the carnival: "I'm looking forward to Lady Shanandoah bouncing back, I think she will, and a complete forgive run at the Valley last night. Via Sistina is another one, just good old horses that are up and about. They're the ones that spring to mind at the moment.
Beaten Jockeys:
Ethan Brown (Fawkner Park): "Under the weight, I think he will derive benefit. He just ran out of fitness."
Kerrin McEvoy (Osipenko): "He's run well, just had to go back from the gate. I like the way he picked up and he showed a nice finish for the last furlong."
Josh Parr (Rise At Dawn): "Terrific effort, the winner just had a better turn of foot today."
Nash Rawiller (Unspoken): "I thought it was a great return. He put himself in a lovely spot there. I loved his fight in the straight, he kept kicking."
Zac Lloyd (Democracy Manifest): "He ran really well. He got a couple of buffers which really cost him a placing, but he raced well."
Jason Collett (Encap): "A bit frustrating, he's racing so well but just clearing the gates is so costly in these big races. Hopefully it's a harder run race in the Epsom."
Dylan Gibbons (Maison Louis): "Super run, he was really above himself pre-race. So everything he's done today he will improve on, he's done a good job."
Tyler Schiller (Our Gold Hope): "I think she's going to be suited better on a wet track. Today was probably just a bit firm for her. She sprinted sharply for a furlong then just came to the end of her run by the 100m."
Anna Roper (Shohisha): "He ran well today, obviously a big step up in grade. She was just bit crowded for room late but she has acquitted herself well in this company."
