A look into the family of Saturday’s feature winner in Sydney
Raging Force ended winter the same way he started it – with a win – and the Peter Snowden-trained colt now heads some markets on this year's Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.
The son of Cosmic Force made it four wins on end with an eventful victory over Golden Slipper runner-up and Silver Slipper Stakes winner Beiwacht in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.
It followed a Saturday success at Rosehill on July 5, having won a midweek race on Randwick's Kensington track after strolling home as a $1.10 favourite at Muswellbrook on June 1.
He is the fifth Stakes winner, and second Group 3 winner, for Newgate Farm's Pago Pago Stakes winner Cosmic Force.
He is the third to race from the Stryker mare Miss Loren, whose two others – Whistling Loren and Bain – remain maidens.
Raging Force was bred by Dr Richard McClenahan at Mullaglass Stud, who offered him for sale at last year's Inglis Classic Sale, where he realised $150,000.
Darby Racing was the purchaser, which prompted McClenahan's wife Kim to retain a share in the colt.
"It's fantastic, we're really proud of him,'' McClenahan said.
"He was a beautiful colt, very athletic and Kim loved him as a young horse so when she found out Darby had bought him she jumped at the chance to retain a share in him, so we're along for the ride on all fronts with him.
"It's great for Mullaglass to have a headline horse like him flying the flag for the farm early in the spring, that's for sure. It's exciting times ahead.''
Raging Force heads TAB's Coolmore Stud Stakes market at $6 from Beadman and Wodeton, who are both at $8, with Tempted, Tentyris and Saturday's McNeil Stakes winner Tycoon Star sharing the $11 third line.
