Saturday, 5 December

Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 12:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Competitive race to open the meeting with interesting first-timers, especially ALL AGLOW (same trainer as fancied MALVERN - watch the betting) and HIGH BORN LADY. BELLA BLACK appears a difficult ride but if behaves herself could take honours. ROSE WILLOW found no support when not disgraced on debut and will know more about it. This brings QUEEN ANNE'S LACE into the picture. She is improving with racing and has the same trainer as SABRINA FAIRCHILD who appears stable elect.

#1 Bella Black, #18 Rose Willow, #11 All Aglow, #7 Malvern

Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 13:20GMT+2

Race Summary: IN ABUNDANCE hasn't been far off to date. He has the same trainer as Var first-timer VARATTI and a line could be drawn - watch the betting. DEANAGELO, LIFE GOES ON, RAISETHEREDLANTERN and SPARTAN WARRIOR come off decent debuts and all could improve. SUCCESSFUL SECRET, BLACK FRIDAY and JET CAT should finish close together. LAZY GUY is on the up and could feature.

#20 Varatti, #17 Spartan Warrior, #6 In Abundance, #16 Raisetheredlantern

Race 3, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R77.500, 13:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race. SWEET FUTURE never raised a sweat to win after a lengthy break and looks to have a bright future. Lightly raced HERSTEL needed her last outing and could turn it around with PERSICA who is 1,5kg worse for 1,40 lengths. VARINA should enjoy the little extra and could get into the action. GLOWTORIA is rarely far off them. Others could pop up.

#6 Sweet Future, #3 Varina, #4 Herstel, #10 Persica

Race 4, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R77.500, 14:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Another wide-open event. MONEY FIGHTER needed his last run and will come on heaps. NAMAQUALAND races as a gelding now after a lengthy lay-off. He has ability and could flash up. MAGIC BLAZE is having his 3rd run after a rest and gelding and could go in again. THE CONTRACTOR raced in features and if ready after a rest could win it. WRITTEN IN STONE should run another honest race. PUTINS PROMISE is one of many looking for money.

#9 Money Fighter, #7 Namaqualand, #11 Magic Blaze, #2 The Contractor

Race 5, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R77.500, 15:10GMT+2

Race Summary: GIMMETHEGOAHEAD races as a gelding now after a rest and if near peak fitness could go in. FLORIDA KEYS comes off a rest and should enjoy the extra. AFTER HOURS shouldn't be far off them. PURPLE PANTHER comes off a deserved maiden win and could go on. FOREVER LIGHT is running close up and is another to include in exotics. Others are looking for minor money.

#2 Gimmethegoahead, #7 Florida Keys, #3 After Hours, #1 Purple Panther

Race 6, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R90.000, 15:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Small but competitive field. ANNA CAPRI wasn't disgraced in the recent Gardenia Stakes and should make a bold bid. She holds GREENS who is 3kg better off for 3,50 lengths. The latter's stable companion, SOUTH EAST, disappointed last time but should be thereabouts. SWEET SENSATION and CAPTAIN MORISCO are both in with winning claims and a good finish is expected all round. MARENGO could make the Quartet.

#6 Anna Capri, #1 South East, #7 Greens, #8 Sweet Sensation

Race 7, Gallops, 1475m, Turf, R150.000, 16:20GMT+2

Race Summary: The World Sports Betting Grand Heritage attracts a strong and competitive field. OSCAR WILDE has now matured and if ridden patiently will finish off strongly. He gets 6kg from serious danger EXPRESSFROMTHEUS who has tons of ability but could find it a bit too much. 7-year-old mare ROUGE ALLURE is running well and could get into the action. WHORLY WHORLY is on a hat-trick but Piere Strydom appears to have opted for WHAT YOU ARE. SPANISH BOY could win if ridden cold. More are capable of pulling it off.

#13 Oscar Wilde, #1 Expressfromtheus, #3 Rouge Allure, #11 Spanish Boy

Race 8, Gallops, 1475m, Turf, R90.000, 16:55GMT+2

Race Summary: ROCK THE GLOBE should be at peak fitness and will give a good account of himself. Stable companion PURE STATE got his tongue over the bit last time and should get back on track. DARK TIDE needed his last run and the form of the previous race should shed light on his chances. KAYLA'S CHAMP is running well and could get into the reckoning. Stablemates VIRTUOSA, GIMME HOPE JOHANNA and PUSH OFF could get into the mix.

#2 Rock The Globe, #1 Pure State, #8 Dark Tide, #3 Kayla's Champ

Race 9, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R70.000, 17:25GMT+2

Race Summary: MAKING A SCENE will be having her peak run and doesn't tackle a strong field. The one to beat. LETAS MAGIC is crying out for the longer distance and must be considered. ELECTRIC BOOTS ran below form in her last two and could find it. WHERESTHEREGOLD hasn't been far off recently and could make the frame. LOVING THE VICTORY will relish the extra. Others are looking to improve.

#1 Making A Scene, #10 Letas Magic, #2 Electric Boots, #3 Wherestheregold

Best Win: #1 MAKING A SCENE
Best Value Bet: #6 SWEET FUTURE
Best Longshot: #6 SWEET FUTURE

Sunday, 6 December

Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R70.000, 12:00GMT+2

Race Summary: Decent feature races on the day to bet on and the early races offer plenty well-bred first-timers so stay glued to your screen for future pointers as well. PRINCESS ANASTASIA is regally bred but I'M READY (who could turn out to be well named), MIND SET, BECKONING BEAUTY and STAR ACT are all bred to be very quick and it may be the one who attracts the strongest betting support who will be the one to follow this time. However, CALULO turned in a thrilling finish in her debut (which was on the poly) and could be forward enough to go one better in her first turf event.

#5 Calulo, #2 I'm Ready, #12 Princess Anastasia, #10 Beckoning Beauty

Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 12:30GMT+2

Race Summary: If CAMORA didn't run off the natural course to the finish he may have won his second start. His debut at this venue was promising so he can open his account back down the straight. GUAQUISTADOR showed some potential at Greyville on debut and may have made good improvement during a four-month break but he may just need a bit further on pedigree. HERECOMESTHERAIN could be a better horse after gelding - he is well bred - but has the outside barrier gate. More first-timers in the hunt and consider reserve runner SECRET IS OURS if he gets in.

#5 Camora, #3 Guaquistador, #11 High Velocity, #16 Herecomestherain

Race 3, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 13:05GMT+2

Race Summary: CAFE PACIFICA is coming along the right way and if his middle-of-the-track barrier is not a disadvantage he can score in this, his third start. His rider could choose the better going from that vantage point after gauging the first two races. SHAMOOSI also has similarly decent form but he drops in distance and has drawn more to the outside of the track. However, he is fitted with a few headgear accessories and could be better with those. Many can improve to feature: STRAIGHT SIX has been gelded and his debut at this course wasn't bad so could be one to watch, RAINBOW RISING needed his last run and can show more..

#9 Cafe Pacifica, #12 Shamoosi, #8 Straight Six, #4 Rainbow Rising

Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R70.000, 13:40GMT+2

Race Summary: It must take a good sort to win over distance on debut at this course but MYSTERY BOY is very well related and the stable comment on him was 'Nice type' so he could be the one to watch. But this is a wide-open race with many who have scope for big improvement. TWICE AS COLD finished as runner-up in his second start and on pedigree could prefer this track and trip. CHRISTMAS BAY caught the eye in his second start and like TWICE AS COLD benefits from a 4kg claim. Another well-bred individual LEGISLATE'S DANCE came in for betting support on debut - watch out. ITALIAN DYNASTY and GO SANDALS look capable as well.

#4 Twice As Cold, #7 Christmas Bay, #2 Guitar King, #6 Legislate's Dance

Race 5, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R75.000, 14:15GMT+2

Race Summary: First of the exciting Challenge Finals and as usual all of these races have wide-open feels to them. BORN TO PERFORM gets a chance to finally win at this venue. He has run some sparklers here without winning, but this kind of class could suit and he is coming back to best form. NEWS STREAM is in the form of his life and can complete a hat-trick of wins, having drawn ideally again. But he has a bit more to do this time. MOUNT ANDERSON should enjoy a drop in class and the longer trip could also be what he is looking for. But, along with poly record breaker GURU'S PRIDE, has drawn wide. JUSTFORTHEEPENNY can upset today.

#5 Born To Perform, #2 News Stream, #10 Mount Anderson, #3 Justfortheepenny

Race 6, Gallops, 1950m, Turf, R75.000, 14:50GMT+2

Race Summary: A small field for the 2000m final and DONALD MCDONALD is the one to beat. He has done everything asked of him and was quite convincing with blinkers for the first time. However, he is switching to turf. WEALTHY is back at a course and distance over which he has done very well. He looks the biggest threat. He could make a welcome return to the winners enclosure off a lowered merit rating. IRISH WONDER GIRL is in good form and one from one over the course and distance. Must be respected. FAVOUR is the dark horse on best form. He may have taken time to mature.

#6 Donald Mcdonald, #2 Wealthy, #3 Irish Wonder Girl, #4 Favour

Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R75.000, 15:25GMT+2

Race Summary: The River Indigo boasts a small but powerful line up. LOVE BOMB turned in a strong effort after a rest and could be ready to pick up from where she left off as a juvenile. She already has a Grade 2 win on her resume and on pedigree should love the longer trip. Rested GENEROUS LADY has bags of class about her as well and could fend them all off as she races fresh and loves 1400m. STAR VEGA is in top form and should be ready to fight out the finish, even though dropping in distance. She will get a faster pace, which she enjoys thoroughly. If MASTER KEYS is ready after a trip upcountry she will be there as well.

#7 Love Bomb, #3 Generous Lady, #6 Star Vega, #8 Master Keys

Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R75.000, 15:59GMT+2

Race Summary: Tough race. If CUMULUS is at his very best he could add to his good form at Scottsville. His last few at Greyville, to which he is not suited, is best ignored. DOUBLE ESPRESSO has definite claims on his penultimate but his Achilles heel is a slow start, which is never good in sprints. GOOD RHYTHM has been living up to his name for a while now and takes a drop in class so can finally score at this venue. But he carries a big weight. WINTER CHILL has a knack at popping up at decent prices and is not one to take lightly at this venue. ENJOY THE VIEW is another with a love for this track.

#9 Double Espresso, #8 Good Rhythm, #1 Cumulus, #6 Winter Chill

Race 9, Gallops, 2400m, Turf, R70.000, 16:35GMT+2

Race Summary: JACK IN THE BOX has disappointed as a well-supported favourite at Greyville but this more galloping course could be what he needs. He rates a big chance in this field and appeals as a banker bet in some exotics. After him it is wide open. GREY LINNGARI is someway better than his last run from a wide draw. He was also dropping in distance and back over the marathon can produce the goods. DO RE MI has been making progress in his races and needs to find a little bit more for the win. GOTITALL and DRY VAR have the scope to show a lot more.

#8 Jack In The Box, #9 Grey Linngari, #10 Do Re Mi, #4 Gotitall

Best Win: #6 DONALD MCDONALD
Best Value Bet: #9 DOUBLE ESPRESSO
