FAIRVIEW

Race 1
Race Summary: A competitive race. AFTER THE STORM makes a local debut and has a winning chance trying the Polytrack. ENGLISH PRINCESS was a bit of a disappointment last time. This is her local debut after a stable change and it will not really be a surprise if she finally breaks the ice with a win. Stable companion SHAHIDI is in good form and should fight out the finish once again. KEARA was caught too far out of her ground on local debut and was an unlucky loser. She is probably looking for a longer distance but could win.

Selections:
#4 English Princess, #1 After The Storm, #11 Keara, #7 Just So Easy

Race 2
Race Summary: A very open looking race and even BiPot players may look to load up. PARIS OPERA looked a lucky winner last time out but that win was over this course and distance and she may have made good improvement with blinkers that day so may well be ahead of the handicapper. ESCAPE TO VEGAS was slowly away when third in a decent field last time out and can go even closer this time. QUE COSAS is probably looking for further now but could pop up in the places. VALERIANA is clearly better than her last run would suggest and could do better this time with Warren Kennedy aboard.

Selections:
#10 Valeriana, #5 Escape To Vegas, #4 Paris Opera, #7 Que Cosas

Race 3
Race Summary: AL QAASIM has a tricky draw for jockey Warren Kennedy to overcome but the gelding is in good form and he should fight out the finish. JASPERO has been a bit disappointing in his last two starts but does have a winning chance in this line-up. SILVER CELEBRITY makes a local debut and can improve. GUAQUISTADOR showed improvement last time out so must be respected. CAPTAIN CALICO is in good form and can go close once again. PURE QUALITY is battling to win but can earn some minor money.

Selections:
#1 Al Qaasim, #5 Captain Calico, #2 Jaspero, #3 Silver Celebrity

Race 4
Race Summary: Another tough race to find the winner. TIME OFF showed improvement last time out and must be considered. EAST COAST STAR has been a disappointment of late but if bouncing back to best, does have a winning chance. GALACTICO ran her best race to date last time and has now changed trainers. This is her local debut and she can win. SHOWTIME BABY is consistent and deserves respect as well. BIG HELLO'S and PRINCESS ZENA are two others who would not be surprise winners of this race.

Selections:
#3 Galactico, #4 Showtime Baby, #13 Jungle Promise, #6 Big Hello's

Race 5
Race Summary: Yet another difficult handicap. MEERCAT was runner-up behind a decent sort last time and can go one better this time. STORM COMMANDER fought on for a nice win last time and could follow up on local debut. BUSH FEVER is clearly better than that last run would suggest. NINJINSKY'S SON has some fair form and is not out of it. FULL SCORE is improving and can be ready to win again. CAPERNAUM only tired late last time out and has a place chance in this line-up.

Selections:
#8 Full Score, #3 Storm Commander, #5 Bush Fever, #6 Ninjinsky's Son

Race 6
Race Summary: ZETA JONES only tired late last time and should prefer this shorter distance. WALDORF ASTORIA has battled to finish off her races recently but does have a winning chance in this open race. NOBLE PRINCESS clearly likes the Polytrack and can go close. LA DUCHESSE runs on nicely when at her best and has to be considered. LA BASTIDE is unreliable but is also capable of popping up in the places if at her best.

Selections:
#8 Noble Princess, #4 Cerelia, #6 Beyond Temtation, #7 La Duchesse

Race 7
Race Summary: EARTH HOUR could be considered a little but unlucky in his penultimate start. He put that behind him with a good win last time out over rival in this race MARMARA SEA. There has never been too much between the two of them and they should fight out the finish once again. MARMARA SEA has a fantastic record on this surface and was only narrowly defeated by EARTH HOUR last time. NIMCHA has ability and is not out of it making his local debut. SAILING LIZARD has made vast improvement of late and deserves respect tackling stronger this time.

Selections:
#2 Marmara Sea, #1 Earth Hour, #5 Sailing Lizard, #3 Nimcha

Race 8
Race Summary: A big field for the last race. FALLING FOR YOU was an emphatic winner of his latest start which was over the course and distance. He has a penalty for that win which should bring rival PHIL'S POWER right next to him at the finish. PHIL'S POWER is consistent and should be right there at the finish once again. ALL IN LINE is doing well under the care of trainer Alan Greeff and is another who would not be a surprise winner. More was expected of TURN IT UP HARVEY last time and he could do better this time.

Selections:
#12 All In Line, #1 Falling For You, #2 Phil's Power, #5 Homer Fidget

Best Win: #1 AL QAASIM
Best Value Bet:
Best Longshot: #8 NOBLE PRINCESS

TURFFONTEIN

Race 1
Race Summary: ROSE WILLOW has had her chances but could escape the maidens in this not overly strong field. SABRINA FAIRCHILD was well backed in her last 2 and wasn't disgraced. She should get into the action. CROCODILE FILE was quietly fancied on debut and is sure to improve with experience gained. FROSTED ICE could make the Quartet.

Selections:
#1 Rose Willow, #2 Sabrina Fairchild, #8 Crocodile File, #4 Frosted Ice

Race 2
Race Summary: TEAM GOLD ran on strongly to get close on debut and will know more about it. PORTRAYAL and TRUE BRIT weren't disgraced on their debuts and will know more about it. Watch support for the newcomers - a few look likely to be fancied.

Selections:
#8 Team Gold, #7 Run As One, #3 Elmo, #4 Frontline Fighter

Race 3
Race Summary: MISS MAGICIAN eased in the betting on debut but did well in 2nd. She can only improve. LA FILLE disappointed in her post-debut but comes off a rest sporting blinkers. STOLEN KISS hasn't been far off and could make the frame. Watch the first-timers, especially RUNAWAY PRINCESS and WINGS OF NIKE.

Selections:
#5 Miss Magician, #7 Runaway Princess, #10 Wings Of Nike, #4 La Fille

Race 4
Race Summary: MOTOWN MAGIC found support on debut and wasn't disgraced in 2nd. He should come on and rates the one to beat of the raced runners. KATZENTHAL did not improve in blinkers but could get into the reckoning. Watch the newcomers PLATINUM SKY as well as SLINGS AND ARROWS. SWINGTHEWILLOW and MASTER OF FINANCE are looking for minor money.

Selections:
#11 Motown Magic, #12 Platinum Sky, #13 Slings And Arrows, #2 Katzenthal

Race 5
Race Summary: SIREN OF GREECE has been costly to follow but deserves another chance. FASINADA has matured now and shouldn't go down without a fight. Look for improvement from DANCEABOUTTHESUN on her debut run - she tries further and sports blinkers. WAY TO DREAM could get into the money.

Selections:
#1 Siren Of Greece, #2 Fasinada, #7 Danceaboutthesun, #3 Way To Dream

Race 6
Race Summary: APOLLO ELEVEN improved heaps when tried over a longer distance in his 2nd start and even from an outside draw could make his presence felt. NUSSPLY pulled up lame last time and is battling to crack a win. He could get it right this time round. TWIN TURBO was not striding out last and could get into the picture if problem free. JUMEIRAH GOLD needed his first run as a gelding and could feature. Stablemate IMMEASUREABLE could just need it. BAROMETER is doing better and warrants respect.

Selections:
#9 Apollo Eleven, #4 Nussply, #2 Twin Turbo, #5 Jumeirah Gold

Race 7
Race Summary: Sean Tarry has 4 of the 6 runners. SHANGO needed his first run as a gelding badly and will come on heaps. He could make up the 1.75 lengths on PACK LEADER despite being only 0.5kg better off. His stable companion, FLYING CARPET, has mixed form with BINGWA and either could feature. Other inmate BEPOP is not well in but is no slouch.

Selections:
#2 Shango, #1 Pack Leader, #4 Flying Carpet, #3 Bingwa

Race 8
Race Summary: VARINA was never travelling well last time but could get back on track. However, on their meeting in December she is 11kg worse off with TRUE CHARM for a 1.40-length beating and could battle to confirm. On the same form line MULETA should also reverse the form but she is probably not at her best. GREENS is always in with a winning chance. WINTER WATCH and IMPRESSIVE DUCHESS could get into the frame.

Selections:
#2 True Charm, #1 Varina, #5 Greens, #6 Muleta

Race 9
Race Summary: Difficult race to end and luck in running could be the decider. Honest one-time winner USHUAIA is maturing nicely and could do it. CAPTAIN CHORUS gives weight all round but could get into the fight for honours. Ex-Alexander stable, MASTER AND MAN, ZEAL AND ZEST and BRAND NEW CADILLAC could continue their honest form. CASH TIME and LORD MELBOURNE are more for the short list.

Selections:
#6 Ushuaia, #1 Captain Chorus, #7 Master And Man, #2 Zeal And Zest

Best Win: #1 ROSE WILLOW
Best Value Bet: #2 TRUE CHARM
Best Longshot: #2 TRUE CHARM

KENILWORTH

Race 1
Race Summary: HENDO SHUFFLE made good improvement in his 2nd start, despite excuses, so is open to further progress and should make his presence felt. Well-bred OVATION has shown promise in both starts and is likely to have more to offer stepped up to this trip after a staying-on 3rd over 1000m last time out. STAR MASTER showed little on debut in a sales race but would've come on since and could find this an easier task. Newcomer VAN HUNKS is bred in the purple and word from the Snaith stable is that he is smart, so any market support should be taken seriously.

Selections:
#9 Van Hunks, #7 Ovation, #5 Hendo Shuffle, #6 Infinite Peace

Race 2
Race Summary: ROYAL FLUSH has been runner-up in his last 4 starts, including back-to-back 2nds this year after gelding - the latest of which was over this course and distance at his first go over this trip - so rates the one to beat. EMPIRE GLORY and SOFT DAY have earning potential but less scope than their rivals. Newcomers ACT OF THUNDER and GENTLE RAIN are worth a market check and warrant respect if attracting any support. Youngster HOT SUMMER is a likely improver who could stake a claim too.

Selections:
#1 Royal Flush, #5 Gentle Rain, #3 Act Of Thunder, #2 Empire Glory

Race 3
Race Summary: Few with winning credentials. DAUGHTER OF ZEUS has improved this term over 1600m, finishing 2nd in 3 of her last 4 starts including over this course and distance - obvious contender. RAZZLE DAZZLE EM looked a winner in waiting after a smart debut 2nd over 1400m but is becoming costly to follow. She was only 5th over this trip two starts back but bounced back to form (2nd) reverting to 1400m last time, so could be worth another chance stepped up to this trip again for an in-form jockey-trainer combination. HOT MARMALADE and JETRIX are other likely improvers over this distance to consider. Watch the betting on well-bred newcomer DYANNE who could be one for the notebook.

Selections:
#2 Razzle Dazzle Em, #1 Daughter Of Zeus, #3 Hot Marmalade, #5 Jetrix

Race 4
Race Summary: Wide open. BEL PUNTO has shown improvement racing handily in recent starts but will need to be used up to get into a forward position from a wide draw. PIKETBERG ALLEY has been erratic up the straight but did hint at ability and has scope for improvement in his first start over further, so has a chance. SMILEATTHESUNSET has decent form up to 1400m and may have more to offer over this trip in his peak outing, but will need to deal with a wide draw. BUFFALO THORN stayed on well over 1250m from a wide barrier last time. This step up in trip and a good draw could suit. CHAUELS CAMELOT and A GOOD YEAR warrant consideration but need to improve.

Selections:
#4 Buffalo Thorn, #1 Bel Punto, #3 Smileatthesunset, #13 Winter Royale

Race 5
Race Summary: Tricky. Best-weighted ICON PRINCESS has only had one go at this trip and was far from disgraced on that occasion in a Grade 1. She is well in under these conditions and will be hard to peg back if allowed a soft lead, with jockey Grant van Niekerk an eye-catching booking. MAJESTIC MOZART stayed on to finish ahead of that rival last time and is likely to be a factor on similar weight terms. Consistent rivals HUDOO MAGIC and LOVE HAPPENS boast solid records at this level and should again be competitive. The same could be said of versatile SUPER SILVANO who could have more to offer after a recent gelding. Good race!

Selections:
#2 Majestic Mozart, #6 Icon Princess, #1 Hudoo Magic, #4 Love Happens

Race 6
Race Summary: Good race. BOOMPS A DAISY and CARIBBEAN SUNSET are smart sprinters with unblemished records over this track and trip. The former may lack fitness after a layoff and she must also concede 3.5kg to the latter, which could tip the scales in that race-fit rival's favour. BRIANNA is an exciting prospect who backed her debut win with a fast-finishing 2nd (after a slow start) in a hot sprint handicap over course and distance last time. She ought to improve with racing so should make her presence felt. Fellow 3yo fillies IRIS and SOCIAL BUTTERFLY are useful in their own right and boast consistent records too, so could pose a threat.

Selections:
#3 Brianna, #2 Caribbean Sunset, #1 Boomps A Daisy, #5 Social Butterfly

Race 7
Race Summary: Intriguing contest as promising 2yo SUPER SIRI takes on her elders. She does, however, appear to be above average - winning 2 of 3 starts over this trip, including her most recent outing when getting the better of subsequent winner African Rain. She is open to further improvement, so could have the measure of these rivals. GLACIER GOLD won her only start over this distance and has scope, so could pose a threat returning from a break. Both FOURS A CROWD and REAL ADVISOR have recent winning form in PE but will find this tougher. As such, stable companions WINTER FURI and PROCRASTINATION are likely to pose more of a threat.

Selections:
#5 Super Siri, #3 Winter Furi, #1 Glacier Gold, #4 Procrastination

Race 8
Race Summary: Race features a handful of talented 3yo's, headed by top-weight GIACOMO PUCCINI who has solid recent form over this trip - leading contender. Stablemate SOMERSET MAUGHAM is held in high regard and could be realising his potential after gelding. He was a good 2nd after a rest in which gelded and built on that to win a similar contest last time. Grant van Niekerk has opted to partner unexposed BEREAVE, which suggests he could be competitive after a 136-day absence. KAPTEIN makes most appeal of the other 3yo's as he drops in class and races fresh over this trip. ZEB, PATH OF CHOICE and DOPPIO ORO will keep their younger rivals honest.

Selections:
#1 Giacomo Puccini, #2 Bereave, #3 Somerset Maugham, #5 Kaptein

Best Win: #1 ROYAL FLUSH
Best Value Bet:
Best Longshot: #4 BUFFALO THORN

SCOTTSVILLE

Race 1
Race Summary: HASTA MANANA turned in a promising display on debut. He is very speedy and could come on in leaps and bounds. He is trying turf but could enjoy it. However there are first-timers with regal bloodlines in the hunt - watch out. ADMIRAL'S RANSOM is a half-brother to superstar Captain's Ransom but according to the trainer comments may not be fully ready - still one to keep an eye on. GIMME A PRINCE is by a Grade 1 winner out of a Grade 1 winner and the talk is good so could be one to follow. The betting moves must be watched. ROWNTREE caught the eye on debut and should be right there.

Selections:
#2 Hasta Manana, #6 Rowntree, #14 Gimme A Prince, #1 Admiral's Ransom

Race 2
Race Summary: PARTY TIME's first run was good and then he was unlucky to go down a short head to Good Traveller, a horse fancied to win a Grade 3 feature later on the card. He should win this but has to make the switch to the straight track and runs like he may need a bit further. First-timers abound again and most have useful pedigrees so consider a well-supported runner. INCREDIBILL has an eye-catching bloodline. NOBLE TRIP has run two good races in a row and being super fit, could get a lot closer. He has a top rider up.

Selections:
#7 Party Time, #11 Noble Trip, #15 Incredibill, #3 Trident King

Race 3
Race Summary: If GLOBAL APPEAL doesn't mind the switch to turf she could open her account. She has had nine chances but found a much more experienced sort only one better last time and could be nearing her full potential. INDIGO MOON has finished runner-up four times in her 10 starts and is also overdue a win. Ignore her earlier run with blinkers over this trip. She is a lot better than that. DIAMONDS AND TOADS is another who has been knocking at the door but has been a bit costly to follow. She could enjoy the change to Scottsville. BACKSTOP and RUBY SKY seem capable of better. FATEFUL MISTRESS is another who can upset.

Selections:
#8 Global Appeal, #5 Indigo Moon, #7 Diamonds And Toads, #12 Backstop

Race 4
Race Summary: A race full to the brim with talent. Grade 1 Gold Medallion winner TEMPTING FATE is back, along with lightning-fast stablemate PRAY FOR RAIN who ran second in the Gold Medallion. Another classy gelding, NO LAYING UP (3rd in the Gold Medallion), lightly raced but loaded with potential, has drawn well. SPEED MACHINE easily beat NO LAYING UP and ran well in a feature at the course recently so has got to be a massive runner with fitness on his side. All of GAINSFORD, GOOD RHYTHM, SEVENTH GEAR, ISHNANA, AD ALTISIMA and WINTER SMOKE are dangerous customers but most are prepping for the upcoming big speed day at Scottsville. Lovely!

Selections:
#13 Speed Machine, #11 Tempting Fate, #2 No Laying Up, #14 Pray For Rain

Race 5
Race Summary: Cape filly HIGH HOSANNA was beaten as odds-on favourite on Met day but she jumped slowly and in any case, is looking for further. She will have made improvement during a three-month layoff and is the one to watch. Highveld raider SOUND OF WARNING produced a powerful finish to win her debut and could be anything. She too runs like she will prefer more ground and returns from a similar length break. There are some speedy sorts vying for honours, including CAPTAIN'S RUN who ran third in the Grade 2 Nursery at Turffontein. CASA INVERNO, CIVIL RIGHTS and DANSE MILORD should also be right there.

Selections:
#8 High Hosanna, #6 Sound Of Warning, #7 Captain's Run, #2 Civil Rights

Race 6
Race Summary: COSMIC HIGHWAY won his two races in the Western Cape in good style and could be anything, having had time to mature. If he takes to Scottsville he could remain unbeaten. Another Cape colt, SAFE RETURN, could be his biggest danger. This colt won his second start as he liked and is also bred to enjoy the longer trip. GOOD TRAVELLER is very fast and is probably the one to catch, although all of SOCIAL IMAGE, IRFAANS BOY and CHIEF EXECUTIVE will keep him honest as they are also quick in the early stages. EDGARTOWN wasn't disgraced in a Cape feature in what is proving to be a very strong form line.

Selections:
#1 Cosmic Highway, #10 Safe Return, #7 Good Traveller, #6 Edgartown

Race 7
Race Summary: The Poinsettia Stakes is wide open this year. SINGFORAFA is best weighted and while she has run some great races at this venue, she is not entirely reliable overall. She's drawn No 1 which could be ideal. Three-year-olds KEEP THE LIGHTS ON, ZIMBABA, LOVE BOMB, and FAVORITA are in good form and need to be taken seriously. KEEP THE LIGHTS ON is dropping in trip but has won over this distance. ZIMBABA had valid excuses last time and should improve. LOVE BOMB has campaigned over further but is effective over this trip. ALL OF ME, SILENT CRUSADE and LINEAR are tough and worthy of inclusion.

Selections:
#3 Zimbaba, #4 Love Bomb, #1 Singforafa, #9 Favorita

Race 8
Race Summary: PRINCESS ANASTASIA put a no-show poly run behind her when an eye-catching second in a competitive handicap last time. She will relish being back on this longer straight and rates the one to beat. ADMIRE ME has been improving and is beating better with each run. She could prove dangerous from a plum gate, but is racing after a rest and could be prepping for bigger events. CHANTY LANE was not disgraced in a feature that boasted a decent line-up and previously has finished ahead of PRINCESS ANASTASIA. She needs to be respected at these weights. Keep an eye on all of STAR VEGA, ELECTRIC SURGE and CHERRY ROAD.

Selections:
#8 Princess Anastasia, #2 Admire Me, #11 Chanty Lane, #13 Electric Surge

Race 9
Race Summary: Not an easy race to end as one of the major form players, CABINET SHUFFLE, may just need the run after a 178-day layoff. He was improving with each start prior but those runs were on the poly. Another improver, VICTORY TWIST, has drawn widest and racing at Scottsville for the first time is tough as it is. Still, looks to have scope for improvement. DEORSA was beaten in a close finish last time. It was his first run after gelding and he could make more improvement but he finally tries the turf again although this time it is at Scottsville. MAESTRO SONADOR is one of many with an upset chance.

Selections:
#15 Victory Twist, #6 Cabinet Shuffle, #7 Deorsa, #12 Maestro Sonador

Best Win: #8 PRINCESS ANASTASIA
Best Value Bet: #3 ZIMBABA
Best Longshot: #3 ZIMBABA
