SCOTTSVILLE

Race 1
Race Summary: It could get close between ILLICIT KISS and BRISTOLBEAUFIGHTER this time. The pair were making their debut when the former finished 4.40 lengths to the good but the latter made big improvement subsequently and has the best of the draws. Both should relish the extra, although ILLICIT KISS has had a run round a turn who could have the edge. It doesn't end there. RARE VINTAGE was eye catching last time after two no-show sprints. He relished the trip but may also have benefited from gelding. Highveld raider ANGEL OF WAR is not in town for a change of scenery. He brings fair form into it.

Selections:
#4 Illicit Kiss, #1 Bristolbeaufighter, #8 Rare Vintage, #9 Angel Of War

Race 2
Race Summary: It won't take a talented first-timer to win this. The trainer comments are positive on all so follow the betting market closely. SEVENTH SONG has run many a good race and would be deserving but is having his 17th try and hasn't drawn well. Still, he must be respected. LEOPARD LADY disappointed at Greyville but was much improved when trying this venue. She can make further improvement. CHARA SANDS ran a decent race last time and could be the stable elect over BARRINGTON. The latter is ridden by Rachel Venniker who is full value for her 4kg claim. GERONIMO showed good pace last time.

Selections:
#11 Chara Sands, #6 Barrington, #2 Geronimo, #4 Proud Master

Race 3
Race Summary: THREE HEARTS met a decent field in a feature race on debut. She was restrained early and battled to turn it on but this looks decidedly weaker and she could make the required improvement. TRUMP MY QUEEN looks a big danger. She was eye catching on debut when running on for second. She should enjoy the longer distance but interestingly a set of blinkers has been added to her equipment. After that it is wide open. BLANCHETTA should get a blow-in as she has run many a decent race but is turning into a professional maiden, it seems. STREET DANCING could show more in her third start.

Selections:
#14 Three Hearts, #8 Trump My Queen, #5 Blanchetta, #3 Street Dancing

Race 4
Race Summary: TALES OF US should have won in the Western Cape by now. He has run well over a variety of distances and could go close if ready after a rest. DEPUTY MARSHALL has the benefit a recent run at the course and has the best of the draws. His last run was not his best but he looks to have needed a faster pace. His penultimate run was good. Highveld raider JUMEIRAH GOLD made some improvement last time and races for a stable in good form. He should be right there. MASTER OF THE NORTH finished close-up in his last two on the poly. MYSTIC MASTER and CORAL COPY need to be respected.

Selections:
#4 Tales Of Us, #1 Deputy Marshall, #5 Jumeirah Gold, #9 Master Ofthe North

Race 5
Race Summary: FLY THE COUP was a bit unlucky to lose his penultimate over this distance. He ran a creditable race over further at the track last time and back over the minimum trip could get his head in front. SIR POM had many of these beaten when flying up from last with blinkers fitted last time. He is having his third start after a rest and with a build-up of confidence could follow up. PRINCEKRESH did everything but win and could get the better of SIR POM at the revised terms. BLAZE OF SILK and VALIENTE are both a lot better than their last efforts. KINGS ROAD should benefit from a 4kg claim.

Selections:
#7 Fly The Coup, #9 Sir Pom, #8 Princekresh, #11 Blaze Of Silk

Race 6
Race Summary: GAINSFORD has been his own worst enemy. He is loaded with talent but sometimes duffs the start or runs into traffic. This could be the right race for him after running a cracker in a Grade 2 last time. AQUA BOLT ran a fair race after a rest last time. His Western Cape form stands him in good stead especially a beating of GAINSFORD over this distance. He is better off at the weights and could be a leading contender on local debut. SEVENTH GEAR looks a bit better than his last race with blinkers fitted. He has drawn well and needs to be included. BURNING WINGS and HAWKER TYPHOON are not ones to take lightly.

Selections:
#8 Gainsford, #2 Aqua Bolt, #1 Seventh Gear, #7 Burning Wings

Race 7
Race Summary: WILLOW'S WISH has only had two runs as a three-year-old and could still be anything. He impressed in both races and should keep on improving. But he meets some strong hard knockers. TROMSO is in the form of his life having run well on poly and turf and looks a big threat again. CAPTAIN WHO has room for improvement but may just need it after a rest. Still, he has a champion rider up. SECRET IS OURS has been a bit unlucky and again has drawn wide but must be considered. TOLTEC has dropped in the ratings and could be dangerous.

Selections:
#6 Willow's Wish, #7 Tromso, #8 Captain Who, #10 Secret Is Ours

Race 8
Race Summary: Highly regarded GAVEL STRIKE is better than his first try in a feature. The marathon trip may have caught him out and a much better effort is expected even though he has drawn widest. Best drawn KAPEN PRIDE relished racing in this division last time and is expected to build on that close finish. TEICHMAN has a bit to find with KAPEN PRIDE on their last meeting but can dictate his own pace and make them chase hard. TIME TAKER disappointed a little in his latest starts but did race in a feature last time and had a valid excuse the time before. Can upset. HEY BILL is a lot better than his recent form suggests.

Selections:
#12 Gavel Strike, #1 Kapen Pride, #7 Teichman, #6 Time Taker

Race 9
Race Summary: Wide-open fillies and mares handicap to end. GARDENIA produced a flying finish to win her penultimate and ran another cracker from a wide draw last time. She may be looking for the longer distance. FLOWER OF SAIGON on the other hand has been racing over further which may not have suited. She ran fair races nevertheless, but back over a more suitable trip she could blossom. PRINCESS ANASTASIA battled a bit last time and the soft going may have had something to do with it. She could turn that form around in no uncertain terms. SILVER MARIA and GLORY DAYS have realistic chances as well.

Selections:
#2 Gardenia, #12 Flower Of Saigon, #4 Princess Anastasia, #8 Silver Maria

Best Win: #6 WILLOW'S WISH
Best Value Bet: #4 TALES OF US
Best Longshot: #4 TALES OF US

GREYVILLE

Race 1
Race Summary: Small field to open proceedings but there are runners who have raced in features. CONQUER THE ENEMY should get it right if taking to the Polytrack. He has matched strides with high-class individuals and can score an overdue win. Watch out for ADMIRAL BIRNHAM who took on a strong field in a sales race on debut. He was all at sea at the start in a big field and racing closer in this small field could show his true potential. UNCOMPLICATED is better than his last few runs suggest. He needed his last run in open company and should be right there. THE GREEN GALLANT could be anything on poly.

Selections:
#2 Conquer The Enemy, #3 Admiral Birnham, #1 Uncomplicated, #6 The Green Gallant

Race 2
Race Summary: ANGELIC FORT shows good speed on turf and can open her account if taking to the poly. A slightly wide draw will mean she may have to go early to overcome it though. SEA OF TRANQUILITY has had a try on the poly and it was a decent effort. This shorter distance should suit better. Older filly VARVACIOUS is lightly raced and has shown the potential to win a race like this. Hopefully she is over her fly-jumping habit after a rest. VAR VAR VROOM is bred to sprint and could be the first-timer to watch.

Selections:
#3 Sea Of Tranquility, #7 Angelic Fort, #4 Varvacious, #9 Var Var Vroom

Race 3
Race Summary: ROYAL VIRTUE looks to be bumping the right field after a solid run from a six-month layoff. He improved as a juvenile in a decent field and on that alone rates the one to beat. But Justin Snaith-trained first-timer ATLANTIC CITY, who has a quality filled bloodline, is an unknown quantity. Follow the betting market. LUCRETIUS disappointed recently but will be super fit and his one run on the poly entitles him to respect. Older runners DAWN RAIDER, DIEDI and MAMMA'S BOY must be considered for Trifectas and Quartets.

Selections:
#1 Royal Virtue, #6 Atlantic City, #8 Lucretius, #5 Dawn Raider

Race 4
Race Summary: As far as maiden form goes AUSTEN's form is good and she should run a big race. However, she is returning after a layoff and may just need it. KINSKEY'S TUNE tried chasing down a fair sort last time and ran a creditable race. She is knocking at the door but needs to jump on terms. BACKSTOP is hard to follow but it could be her day as her earlier run on the poly was decent. She is drawn well. Then there's PRINCESS SABRINA who may not be rated to win but has run two close seconds on the poly in a row and if the others mentioned end up with excuses again, she could win it.

Selections:
#6 Austen, #8 Kinskey's Tune, #3 Backstop, #4 Princess Sabrina

Race 5
Race Summary: FLYING FIRST CLASS had a wide draw to overcome last time and ran downfield. This shorter distance looks better for her and from a decent draw she should prove dangerous. SOMEONE EXCITING didn't enjoy dropping in distance last time. In her last run over this kind of distance she went close. Must go in. The same can be said for COZY DOT COM who loves this track and who should make full use of her 4kg apprentice claim. She needs to be taken seriously as well. KAYC AL is back on the poly and should give of her best but has a wide draw to negotiate. PANNA COTTA was backed last time - watch out.

Selections:
#3 Flying First Class, #5 Someone Exciting, #6 Cozy Dot Com, #12 Kayc Al

Race 6
Race Summary: HIGHER PURPOSE is in good nick and ready to win. He was decisive in second ahead of MONTANA SKY but that rival now has a 4kg apprentice claim which could mean HIGHER PURPOSE will have to play second fiddle again. He does have the better draw, however. But QUEST FOR THE BEST has drawn better and after an easy maiden win could follow up on handicap debut. His form line was franked last week. More can pop up off best form. THE SNOW WAR is back over his best trip and has a good finish when the pace is on. DOUBLE RAINBOW is the one to watch back on poly. He has not shown on turf in the Cape but is back home.

Selections:
#3 Quest For The Best, #5 Higher Purpose, #9 Montana Sky, #8 The Snow War

Race 7
Race Summary: Wide open. SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI could show the benefit of running in a much higher class last time. He should appreciate this longer trip as well. NAVAL SECRET made improvement when racing for a new yard after a rest. His only win was on the poly and he has the best of the gates. SPRING HIGH won a nice race at Scottsville racing near the front. He can open his poly account with a repeat. Poly specialist GALWAY may find this a tad short but is not one to take lightly, especially if he gets a good pace to chase. Speaking of which, STORM CHASER was a runaway winner over this track and trip.

Selections:
#4 Shampompo Shampizi, #1 Naval Secret, #3 Spring High, #7 Galway

Race 8
Race Summary: STANTON STREET is holding form nicely and would be deserving. He has drawn ideally. RED EIGHT ran a fair race after a rest and should build on that. He finished a short head in front of STANTON STREET but the draw roles have been reversed and he has his work cut out this time. WE ALL CHOMIES disappointed a little recently but has dropped in the ratings and can get into the picture. After that it is wide open. GREAT GUYS seems capable of a lot better and could upset in this kind of race. LIFE GOES ON had excuses last time and should improve. ALPHAMIKEFOXTROT is not one to take lightly.

Selections:
#3 Stanton Street, #6 We All Chomies, #10 Red Eight, #7 Great Guy

Best Win: #1 ROYAL VIRTUE
Best Value Bet: #3 FLYING FIRST CLASS
Best Longshot: #3 FLYING FIRST CLASS
