Race 1, Gallops, 1300m, Poly, R40.000, 12:10GMT+2

Race Summary:  A weak field. CURIOUS was caught out of his ground on his local debut. He is not well drawn but if ridden closer to the pace he might win. BALTIC BEATtends to lack a strong finish. Trainer Gavin Smith has put Blinkers up thistime and he might well keep going. IN THE FLESH and was a bit disappointingearlier this week. CARLINO makes his debut and must have a winning chance.

#1 Curious, #3 Baltic Beat, #8 Carlino, #4 Moon Game

Race 2, Gallops, 1300m, Poly, R40.000, 12:45GMT+2

Race Summary:  QUINTUS ANGEL has battled to finish off her races and is not well drawn for this race but she could finish in the money. WHIFFLER'S JOY has some fair local form and could finish in the money. ELECTRIC DAISY was backed into favourite on Monday and she let her team down but is not out of it. FROSTY RAINis improving and will be hard to beat this time around.

#6 Frosty Rain, #1 Quintus Angel, #2 Whiffler's Joy, #5 Electric Daisy

Race 3, Gallops, 1600m, Poly, R40.000, 13:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Trainer Alan Greeff has a very strong hand in this race. PHILOS is in good form and should contest the finish. Stable companion MARMARA SEA loves this surface and could be finishing too strong for his rivals once again. DUBULA and DUKE OF CARDS are not out of it either. THE HIGHWAY MAN has a place chance if he shows his best form.

#3 Marmara Sea, #4 Dubula, #5 Duke Of Cards, #2 Philos

Race 4, Gallops, 1900m, Poly, R40.000, 13:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Another small field and none of the six runners carded can be safely ruled out. BARBERTON SILVER is in good form and was touched off very late last time out. FINLY HILL always gives of his best and should be right there at the finish once again. MANINGI INDABA, FIERY FORT and IMPRESSIVE MASTER have alldone well on the Polytrack and are quite capable of winning if they show their best side.

#3 Maningi Indaba, #1 Barberton Silver, #2 Finley Hill, #4 Fiery Fort

Race 5, Gallops, 2200m, Poly, R40.000, 14:30GMT+2

Race Summary: A weak Maiden field and trainer Zietsman Oosthuizen could have a winner. His 3 runners EDO FURIN, GEOFFREY PALACE and MOONLIGHTSTRANGER all ran well enough in their latest start to hold a winning shout. GILDED AGE needs to do more to win but could earn some money. FORD WINTIE showed major improvement last time out and can go one better. BILLI ANN was not disgraced on Monday.

#4 Geoffrey Palace, #5 Moonlightstranger, #3 Edo Furin, #8 Ford Wintie

Race 6, Gallops, 1600m, Poly, R40.000, 15:05GMT+2

Race Summary: Probably the toughest race to find the winner. MIO GRANDE won a nice race last time out and can follow up. STORY OF MY LIFE probably needed the run last time out and should improve. THE MASTER was not disgraced on his local debut and could do even better this time. RIGA DORO, NORFOLK PINE and LATEST CRAZE have all done well enough of late to be considered as possible winners.

#7 Latest Craze, #2 Mio Grande, #4 The Master, #5 Riga D'Ora

Race 7, Gallops, 1000m, Poly, R40.000, 15:40GMT+2

Race Summary: Alan Greeff has 2 big guns i his arsenal for this race. VERBARIUM has done very well on this surface and is clearly in with a winning chance but does have stable companion SULLENBERGER to beat. The Captain Of All gelding is unbeaten in 2 starts on the Polytrack and won full of running last time out. Alan Greeff is in very good form. BIG BAY should be in the battle for a stake cheque.

#2 Sullenberger, #1 Verbarium, #3 Big Bay, #4 Omega Onslaught

Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Poly, R40.000, 16:15GMT+2

Race Summary: The Softly Falling Rain filly BLOOM took her time to start up her engine ondebut but quickened like a good horse and there is no real reason to suggest that she will not be even smarter this time around. Stable companion ELUSIVE DIVA is suited to the course and distance and could be the one to catch. SWEET SPRING and VALERIANA are in good heart and hold place chances.

#3 Bloom, #4 Elusive Diva, #5 Linda Loves Lace, #11 Valeriana

Best Win: #3 BLOOM
Best Value Bet:
Best Longshot: #4 GEOFFREY PALACE

Saturday, 3 October

Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R70.000, 12:05GMT+2

Race Summary: RUN APRIL RUN found no support on debut but finished strongly to get close. The form has not been franked but she will know more about it. NINA AMELIA has good early toe to overcome a wide draw. COSMIC RAY needed her last outing but has been costly to follow. LHASA STAR sports blinkers now and could goon with it. RAEESAH is improving with racing and could get into the mix. COURTNEY LEIGH can do better.

#12 Run April Run, #4 Nina Amelia, #1 Cosmic Ray, #6 Lhasa Star

Race 2, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R70.000, 12:40GMT+2

Race Summary: PURPLE PANTHER ran close up in both starts to date but will be better suited to the mile here. MAN OF PROPERTY is running well but if gives start won't make use of pole draw. Stable mate PETERSHAM could pick up another cheque. FORT LOVE has been threatening and could be involved again. ENRICO CECCHETTI went to fast last time and should be given another chance.

#9 Purple Panther, #6 Man Of Property, #2 Fort Love, #7 Enrico Cecchetti

Race 3, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R70.000, 13:15GMT+2

Race Summary: This is not a strong field and TRAVELLING WILBURY could run away with it. She did well over the minimum trip on debut and the mile here should be more to her liking. Another looking for the extra is SCOTTISH PRIMROSE who showed inexperience on debut. LIVERPOOL LEGEND hasn't been far off and could get into the mix. LOTUS has a shout if not affected by breathing problems.

#11 Traveling Wilbury, #8 Scottish Primrose, #5 Liverpool Legend, #6 Lotus

Race 4, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R85.000, 13:50GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race with many in top form. EXPRESSFROMTHEUS tries a little further now but doesn't show any stamina doubts. He meets SEVEN PATRIOTS who won subsequently on 4,5kg worse terms for 3,75 lengths. CATEGORY FOUR receives weight all round and could hold consistent form. MASTER SUPREME is having his peak run and could get into the action. Top weight AMERICAN INDIAN is not out of it.

#3 Expressfromtheus, #7 Master Supreme, #8 Category Four, #6 Seven Patriots

Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R85.000, 14:25GMT+2

Race Summary: Top runners preparing for bigger things. ECSTATIC GREEN returns from a successful KZN raid and could continue her run. WAR OF ATHENA is looking for further but could flash up late. GIN FIZZ is best suited to this race and with stable companion DUE DILIGENCE could get into the mix. TRUE TO LIFE and CAVIVAR cannot be ignored.

#6 Ecstatic Green, #5 War Of Athena, #3 Gin Fizz, #8 Due Diligence

Race 6, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R150.000, 15:00GMT+2

Race Summary: Great Spring Challenge. MAGIC SCHOOL and MILL QUEEN fought out a great battle last time this course and distance with the former just prevailing. The 3kg difference should see their positions reversed. ANYTHING GOES will be tested now. This 3-year-old is unbeaten in 4 starts and receives 5,5kg and more from her elders. Top weight GOLDEN BELLE disappointed last time but has ability and cannot be ignored.

#11 Anything Goes, #5 Mill Queen, #7 Magic School, #1 Golden Belle

Race 7, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R175.000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: The Spring Challenge for colts and geldings attracted a strong field. RIVERSTOWN is not well in here but current fitness could get him home. Sean Tarry's 3 head the best weighted, CIRILLO (a touch on the far side), TIERRA DEL FUEGO (wide draw) and CHIMICHURI RUN (chance if covered till late). MOUNT PLEASANT could be anything. She won both her starts but jumps up in class. ZOUAVES and ASTRIX could earn.

#10 Riverstown, #3 Cirillo, #13 Mount Pleasant, #1 Chimichuri Run

Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R85.000, 16:10GMT+2

Race Summary: LADY OF STEEL went over 2000m in the Woolavington last time which despite not being disgraced put an end to her unbeaten record. she is having her prep run but could resume winning ways. She takes on classy individuals like INVIDIA and EDEN ROC who have beaten each other before. PUTONTHEREDLIGHT and BENJI are looking for quartet money.

#3 Lady Of Steel, #4 Invidia, #1 Eden Roc, #5 Putontheredlight

Race 9, Gallops, 1450m, Turf, R70.000, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: MOMENTS LIKE THIS and CASTLE DURROW won going away on debut and should enjoy the extra. Both looked underdone and a lot more is expected. PASCHALS SAMORE and QUEEN BOMI come off maiden wins and could improve. ENTENTE could feature if she settles early. KAY TEE PERRY has ability but appears moody. TRAPICHE could just need it. ZULU DAWN and THANDEKHILE could make the frame.

#3 Moments Like This, #6 Castle Durrow, #7 Entente, #2 Kay Tee Perry

Best Win: #11 TRAVELLING WILBURY
Best Value Bet: #12 RUN APRIL RUN
Best Longshot: #12 RUN APRIL RUN

Race 1, Gallops, 1250m, Turf, R46.000, 12:25GMT+2

Race Summary: Competitive opener. PERFECT PRINCESS reaffirmed last time out over course and distance, finished 2nd behind highly regarded newcomer - will be a factorwith a repeat of that effort but has a wide draw to overcome. MA BLACK wasn't far off that rival, likely to improve for that introduction - can make her presence felt. RAIN IN NEWMARKET also caught the eye on debut, staying on well over shorter at this track - expect big improvement now stepped up in trip, can fight it out. MADAM SEVILLE, WIFE OF WINDSOR and FLY TO RIO can get a look in too. Watch the betting on each the 4 well-bred newcomers.

#9 Rain In Newmarket, #1 Perfect Princess, #7 Ma Black, #5 End Of Rock

Race 2, Gallops, 1250m, Turf, R46.000, 13:00GMT+2

Race Summary: DESERT ILLUSION makes most appeal of those with form after a recent 2nd over track and trip - on the shortlist. Both NOMORE MR NICEGUY and LORD MARMITEare capable of posing a threat to that rival if building on the improvementshown last time out - respect. REAL GONE KID is another likely improver after a fair introduction - include. Follow the betting moves on the newcomers,as the market should prove a guide to their chances on debut. Pay careful attention to BRIGHT KEY, EXCELSIOR, ON YOUR MARKS, well-bred Frankel colt JUAN CARLOS and WOLF MAN. Hard to assess!

#1 Desert Illusion, #13 Real Gone Kid, #9 Juan Carlos, #14 Wolf Man

Race 3, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R46.000, 13:35GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. CONTACT ZONE has the form to play a role in the outcome but his wide draw does his chances no favours, will need luck in running. The same applies to stablemates SABINA'S PRODIGY and SHANGAAN who will also need things to go their way to contest the finish. CANARY ISLAND is a likely improver after gelding - can make his presence felt. MAGICAL MIDLANDS caught the eye in his first start as a gelding, would have come on since + should have more to offer = player. TRAVEL MASTER was penned in the 'little black book' after an eye-catching debut, that outing + this trip will bring improvement.

#16 Travel Master, #13 Magical Midlands, #3 Canary Island, #4 Sabina's Prodigy

Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R46.000, 14:10GMT+2

Race Summary: Open. GATE SIXTY NINE runs well for her 4kg claimer, was only collared late last time over track and trip - could get away if allowed to dictate. Well-related PINK TOURMALINE has a bit to find on that form, would've come on for that intro + step up in trip will suit - poses a threat. LOVE NOTE was backed on debut, not beaten far in 6th - another to have improved since, can play a role up in trip. Well-bred MARINA fared better on debut + will also appreciate sterner test of stamina = value proposition. SACHA went close last start, will be a factor. KAROO WINTER and KUNMING have claims too.

#9 Marina, #11 Sacha, #8 Love Note, #10 Pink Tourmaline

Race 5, Gallops, 1250m, Turf, R46.000, 14:43GMT+2

Race Summary: Snaith-trained runners CAPTAIN TATTERS and RIO QUERARI could dominate. Both enjoyed fruitful 3yo campaigns, should train on and are well-weighted to play forward roles on their seasonal reappearances - the former is best treated by the conditions, appears the pick of stable jock Richard Fourie. Progressive PURPLE CLOUD, 3rd in 3yo feature when last seen, and unexposed MY BESTIE (recently gelded) are the obvious threats. Both are probably better than rated, so warrant respect. Good race!

#2 Captain Tatters, #1 Rio Querari, #6 My Bestie, #5 Purple Cloud

Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R100.000, 15:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Smashing renewal. High-class mare CLOUDS UNFOLD failed to fire in KZN but lost nothing in defeat in 2 starts there - weighted to win on her 5yo bow, likely to have bigger targets on her Cape Summer agenda, though. THIRD RUNWAY has enjoyed an ideal prep into this race, unbeaten over track and trip too - will play a prominent role. PRETTY YOUNG THING is ideally distance suited + runs well fresh, poses a threat. MISSISIPPI BURNING won Cape + KZN Fillies Guineas last season, has nothing to prove - warrants utmost respect. Both CAPTAIN'S RANSOM and CAYA COCO are smart 3YOs, can make presence felt.

#3 Third Runway, #4 Pretty Young Thing, #2 Missisippi Burning, #1 Clouds Unfold

Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R125.000, 15:55GMT+2

Race Summary: KASIMIR finished strongly from a wide draw over 1200m in a Grade 1 last time, lost nothing in defeat there + ran as if this step up in trip would be well within his reach = hard to oppose. TWIST OF FATE lost his way in KZN, promoted his connections to geld this classy and capable son of Master Of My Fate - could reaffirm now, may pose a threat. SNOW REPORT and COUNT JACK enjoyed lucrative 3yo campaigns - both are likely to improve for recent comebacks, so can get into the picture. READY STEADY GO is as honest as the day is long, rarely runs a bad race - can earn a cheque again. Must see!

#1 Kasimir, #2 Twist Of Fate, #3 Snow Report, #9 Count Jack

Race 8, Gallops, 1250m, Turf, R46.000, 16:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. Hard to look beyond consistent and verstaile PHIL'S DANCER who has not missed the money in 9 starts, capable over this trip + proven racing fresh = leading contender. Candice Bass-Robinson's runners are likely to pose the biggest threat, with FIFTYSHADESDARKER preferred to stablemates ZARINA and LEMON DELIGHT who both return from well-deserved breaks after promising 2yo campaigns. Last-start maiden winner CAPITANA and unexposed SONIC BURST aren't without chances either, while MALEDIMO could also make her presence felt dropped in class after contesting a Gr1 last time. Quartet bets on?

#2 Phil's Dancer, #5 Fiftyshadesdarker, #6 Lemon Delight, #9 Zarina

Best Win: #1 KASIMIR
Best Value Bet:
Best Longshot: #9 MARINA

Sunday, 4 October

Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 12:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Plenty first timers in Race 1 and the betting moves must be considered before placing bets. PULPIT ROCK has secured a decent gate, has a 4kg claimer and with a speedy pedigree could be the best of them. CUPID'S SONG is bred to fly but has to overcome a wide draw. If the first timers aren't ready it could go to CAMORA who was beaten a half length on debut. He has the best of the draw in his first try round a bend. TIME TAKER produced a good finish to also run in the money on debut. He could relish a good draw at this track.

#1 Camora, #3 Time Taker, #7 Darkest Dawn, #11 Cupid's Song

Race 2, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R70.000, 13:05GMT+2

Race Summary: JAYS DANCER was beaten a nose this track and trip and the one who beat him was a well backed debutant so the form could be decent. He has a better draw and if the going is a bit quicker it should help his cause. HEY BILL caught the eye on debut but that was on the poly. Still he could be anything on the turf and is very much one to watch out for. RITE OF PASSAGE has shown some decent work but misbehaved last time. He will need a bit of luck from a wide draw. FLYMEFREE and LIGHTENING SPIRIT can earn. Watch out for well bred first timer WHISPERS OF WAR.

#4 Hey Bill, #2 Jays Dancer, #9 Rite Of Passage, #11 Whispers Of War

Race 3, Gallops, 1700m, Turf, R70.000, 13:40GMT+2

Race Summary: CHEWBACA is deserving of another chance to prove himself. He didn't look too comfortable on the poly and the run wasn't bad given the circumstances. Back on the turf where he ran his best race he could give off his best. GUITAR KING has been improving with each start but he jumps from a bad draw here and will need the race run to suit. Still a serious runner. Another son of Jackson, PROSPERO, is improving with distance. He is another to relish racing on turf and he can show more. DO RE MI, JACKINAPOT and SAN VERDE could be right there.

#7 Chewbaca, #14 Guitar King, #11 Prospero, #13 San Verde

Race 4, Gallops, 1700m, Turf, R70.000, 14:15GMT+2

Race Summary: AFRICAN SUNSRISE finally secures a good draw - in fact the best of the draw and he should be able to find a good position and run on at the right time. He is the form choice. NEWS STREAM has got a fair chance on a collateral run where he had to overcome a tough draw as well but has not drawn well again. MOUNT ANDERSON is the stable elect on riding arrangements over his stable mates and after an easy last win with blinkers it is easy to see why. The trip may stretch. Stable mate KAPEN PRIDE can pop up racing fresh.

#1 African Sunrise, #2 Mount Anderson, #10 News Stream, #7 Kapen Pride

Race 5, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R70.000, 14:50GMT+2

Race Summary: SWORDER STREET raced after almost a year off the track and it was an amazing run. He could be ready to take up from where he left off - he was a 9 length winner over Out Of Your League who has gone on to become a Grade 1 winner. But he is rated highly and as such races with top division individuals. JACQUELINE impressed the only time she raced here and is weighted to finish ahead of him. DONALD MCDONALD is back on the turf and is being tested. He may make even more improvement. Ignore BAYVIEW EXPRESS's last run. COLOUR MY FATE can improve.

#9 Sworder Street, #3 Jacqueline, #2 Donald Mcdonald, #8 Bayview Express

Race 6, Gallops, 2400m, Turf, R70.000, 15:25GMT+2

Race Summary: JUST CRUISED IN could be the value proposition today. He ran a fair race after rest coming from a bit too far back and a bit of rain about should boost his chances. JACK OF HEARTS came back to best form finishing a fair bit ahead of JUST CRUISED IN last time. He could do so again but on previous collateral form it may get close. SYDNEY ROSE and WEALTHY had been racing in some of the best feature races and both demand attention. The former is a track specialist that could prove dangerous if ready after rest. More in it.

#4 Just Cruised In, #7 Jack Of Hearts, #9 Silver Rose, #6 White Lightning

Race 7, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R70.000, 16:05GMT+2

Race Summary: If the best COLDHARDCASH arrives on the track watch out. He is weighted to go very well with an appy claim and has the best of the draw. But GOLIATH HERON could be coming back to best again and ran a nice race in a competitive event last time. Interestingly he has cheekpieces fitted. Highveld raider BOLD RANSOM could be the one to catch if judged on the pace he shows back home. He is back over the 1000 metre trip and may enjoy the track. FILIPPO and WE LIGHT THE FIRE are weighted to run well in this.

#4 Goliath Heron, #6 Bold Ransom, #1 Coldhardcash, #9 Filippo

Race 8, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R70.000, 16:40GMT+2

Race Summary: Wide open final race. HAREER caught the eye running on from far back last time and a wide draw may not spoil it for her. She has run well over  further than this. Youngster WINE TASTING may find racing at the coast to her liking as she jumps from the best of the draw. She has shown promise but takes on her elders here. SOMEONE EXCITING loves this track and wasn't far off last time. A wide draw shouldn't bother the natural backmarker. HAWKER TYPHOON has done little wrong and from a great draw could hunt them down.

#12 Hareer, #1 Wine Tasting, #10 Someone Exciting, #3 Hawker Typhoon

Best Win: #4 HEY BILL
Best Value Bet: #4 JUST CRUISED IN
Best Longshot: #4 JUST CRUISED IN
