Busan Race 1: Class 6 (5f) Special Weight A / $32,000

Juvenile maidens with six of the eight racing for the first time. (3) NONPAREIL led for much of the way around in his trial, ultimately crossing the line 2nd in a good time albeit well behind the winner. He should be on pace here in this small field, and if he brings that form to the races, he has every chance first up (6) SPEED BUMP ran 5th of twelve on debut on July 11th, racing in midfield throughout. She should have come on for that run and can be a danger. (5) YONGBI SHARK similarly led for most of the way in his trial, finishing a very close 2nd to an experienced racehorse and that's enough to put him in the mix. (8) SWEET POWER and (4) BORYEONG ONE ROAD are others who hinted at ability in their heats.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000

(3) GRAND MORE was an on pace 2nd at start number two over this distance at the end of May, only going down by a very narrow margin. He hasn't raced since but he looked good when winning a trial last week and so long as he didn't leave his race there, he can go well first up and will be favourite. (5) JIJONSANBANG ran 2nd on debut over this distance in June 29th, settling back and running on. He was seventeen-lengths adrift of the winner (World Top Tier, who has since been beaten) but it was an encouraging first-up effort and with some natural improvement, he should be close. Debut-maker (1) ACE SUN improved in the second of two trials and from the inside gate, can make an impression. It took (9) WONDERFUL BAND took three goes to qualify but when he finally did, he looked competent enough on July 19th and he should certainly be fit for this. (7) FLYING SHOOTER – who trialed up well last week -is among those with experience who can improve.

Busan Race 3: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000

Weak maiden. (8) GREAT LUCKY raced twice without distinction at the end of last year but hasn't been seen since December. She trialed in late June, leading every step of the way and stopping the clock in a quick time. If she can bring that form in here, then she can win, probably from the front as there is little other obvious early speed. (5) SEONGSIL JEIL was a fair 6th of twelve over 5f on debut on July 11th, finishing off well from off the pace. The step up in trip can suit and she can get closer here. (2) ALL THE BEST showed well in a trial before having a hard time from the widest gate on debut on July 4th. She draws better here and similarly, the step up in trip from the minimum can be in her favour. (1) BREEDO GALLANT and (4) WE STRONG others who can improve.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $32,000 

(2) WONDERFUL JONES was 4th in Busan's Classic Trial back in February before an indifferent run in the KRA Cup Mile saw him off the Triple Crown trail. Since coming back into this class he has run 3rd and 5th at 7f but coming back slightly in trip and drawing well, he is very much the one to beat today. (3) CHEONPUNG had been working up to a win and it arrived on July 6th when he led all the way over 6f. He comes up in class bit is down 2.5kg in weight, he draws well, and he can measure up. (5) YONGAM BLACK got his maiden win over this trip in May when leading from gate to wire. He has since run 6th and 4th in two tries at this class and can be in the finish again. (8) MEGA MACHINE and (7) DAEGIL HERO others who can compete for the minors.

Busan Race 5: Class 5 (6f) Handicap / $32,000

Fillies only here. (7) ECHO CHAMP was a winner on debut over this distance at the end of March but didn't return until July 20th when 5th of eleven on her first try at this class. She should strip fitter for that run, and she can win here. The danger is (10) FLY TO THE MOON. She may be yet to win in nine outings, but she has never been any worse than 5th and has a 2nd place at this class ahead of a couple of today's rivals. Seo Seung-un stays on, the wide draw shouldn't be a problem and today could be her day. (5) BLACK WAVE is a twenty-three-race maiden but regularly finds the money and this is the kind of race where she can be close. (6) MOTHER CHUKJE and (8) JINJU BIT others in the hunt.

Busan Race 6: Class 5 (1M) Handicap / $32,000

(1) GOD NIKE is still a maiden after eleven tries but she has six top three finishes to her name and two 2nd places from three tries over the mile. She draws well to be on pace here and today can be her day. That will mean overturning the form on (8) SANGIM STAR who beat God Nike as the pair ran 3rd and 5th at this class and distance on July 4th when she came from well off the pace. She was a big price that day, but it was her first try at the mile and under a light weight, she can be close again. (2) TOHAMSAN TAEYANG is another maiden, in her case after twelve runs. She enters in good form though with a 2nd and a 4th from her latest two, both at this class over 1 1/8M and 7f and she should be in the mix. (7) FORCE BE WITH YOU and (10) GLOBAL WONDER other place chances.

Busan Race 7: Class 5 (1M) Handicap / $32,000

(4) CANCAN STEP stepped up to a mile for the first time on July 4th and was a front-running 2nd, leading at various points of the race. She is up 2.5kg, but that's balanced somewhat by a better draw, she can go one better here. (3) DORAON SAMSON is yet to win in twelve but has several near-misses including his latest two when he has been 2nd and 3rd, both at this class and distance, both times leading. He'll be on pace again and should be in this a long way. (2) SEOBU DANCING enters off a 2nd place at 7f on July 18th when coming from well off the pace after being slow away. He won a trial last week in good order and well drawn, he can be in the mix here. (6) GOLDEN SPOT along with (10) FLASH PARK are others to consider on a place line.

Busan Race 8: Class 4 (7f) Handicap / $43,000

(6) PACHAMAMA is a winner of two from three so far, most recently at 6f on July 4th. That brings her rapidly up in class and while her only defeat so far did arrive at today's distance, she drew wide that day and from a central gate, she should be ready for another crack. (2) WHO IS NEXT had a hard time over a mile on his first try at this class on June 27th, racing handy before finishing 6th. Back in trip and nicely drawn, as well as making his first start for new trainer You Hyun-myung, he can be given another chance. (7) GWANGYAEUIHAMSUNG is a two-time winner at the distance and enters off a 2nd place last time out on July 6th. He likes to come from off the pace and can be challenging late. (1) SEOGWI OREUM and (3) NAEPYEON are the other big hopes in a race of many chances.

Busan Race 9: Class 3 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $54,000

(5) CATCH THE DREAM was an also-ran in the Korean Oaks, but she returned to more amenable company to win over this distance on June 29th when leading all the way. She comes up in class here but has every chance of a repeat. (1) SOLEDAD enters with a 2nd, a 5th and a 3rd from her latest three, all at this class and distance and with a few of today's rivals behind her. She is a two-time winner at 1 1/8M and can settle just behind the speed and be a big danger late here. (7) VEREUDA similarly has had the beating of plenty of these in recent outings and is another who likes to come from off the pace. (11) BEOLMAUI YEONGUNG and (8) JANGSAN LEMON are others to consider on a place line.
