FREMANTLE v ST KILDA
Sunday 29 June @ Optus Stadium
The last game of the round is the double Ross Lyon Cup and a lot is at stake.
Mostly for Fremantle who are well entrenched in the Eight and a sneaky hope of Top 4 if things go to plan.
They got the job done against a disappointing, if not extremely young, Essendon side. There are some decent reasons for them no doubt.
But when Luke Jackson is kicking 3 goals, having 21 disposals and 48 hit outs, that is almost as good a ruck display as one can have.
When the forward line functions it means the backline is sound and the midfield is getting a lot of it.
Match | Fremantle | St Kilda | Ground |
Last time they met | 5.3 [33] | 14.10 [94] | Marvel |
Last 10 matches | 5 wins | 5 wins
Notes | Fremantle has only managed 100+ points once in the last 15 clashes.
Only played three times at Optus where it is 2/1 to Fremantle. |
What they should not do is underestimate that St Kilda could bring a plan to beat them.
OK it didn't quite work against Collingwood but not many have seen that happen in 2025 anyway.
The Saints were right in the game about 2/3rds of the way through it. Some polish at important times would have caused a stir.
But the class took over and the Pies were at a game high margin as it ended. What does it mean for here?
Basically it is a minuscule hope of St Kilda making finals so are they beginning to plan ahead? If so, time for the Dockers to go for the kill.
Match Selection: Fremantle by 45 points
Suggested Bets: Fremantle 40+ @ $2.90
