Gutsy front-running effort sees Bjorn Baker's top perform wound in.
If it wasn't for Libertad packing just a few more guns than Overpass in the run to the line in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on Saturday, the latter may have tumbled in further to challenge for market favouritism for The Gold Rush.
While not firming to be favourite, Overpass is the most significant market mover for the Group 3 feature for Day 5 of The Pinnacles on December 13.
Moving from $9 into $7.50 with TABtouch, Overpass is on the fourth line of betting.
After his fifth placing in the Winterbottom, Joker's Grin eased a point out to $4 but still occupies the favourite's spot while fast finishing fourth-placed Rope Them In eased from $6 out to $6.50.
