CAULFIELD: RACE 8

The G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes where Angel Capital (9) looks clearly the horse to beat off a huge win first up at Moonee Valley. He'd always been a talented three-year-old but he destroyed his rivals in fast time at his first run for the Waller yard there and 1400m now looks ideal. Lane is able to ride at 53.5kg and with a back to follow in the straight, expect him to go right on by once more.

RANDWICK: RACE 6

The Tea Rose form is obviously crucial and the top five picks here all come through that race with reputations enhanced. Tupakara (2) was the runner-up that day after being ridden back from a wide gate then coming deep and rattling home. Draws much closer today so McDonald should have her midfield or better. Rates the one to beat.

GOLD COAST: RACE 3

Wisnierska (1) had been plying her trade in harder Sydney metropolitan contests before hitting the frame at Doomben last time out behind a couple of smart ones. Steps up to the seven-furlong journey for the first time and gets Thornton on from the low draw. Should be right there at the business end.

BELMONT: RACE 6

Be Bardot (5) was fair at the end of last campaign in a slowly-run 1800m event, but she progressed through the grades nicely. Her recent trial was very impressive and Pike hops on for her return. She just missed over 1200m fresh last campaign and this looks a very suitable starting point for her.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 4

A modest race for a Saturday and it drops away pretty quickly. Burning Bright (5) broke through for a deserved win last start after a string of placings behind Rabtat. She draws well and gets in with no weight after the claim. She looks very hard to beat again.
