Best Bets for Chelmsford Stakes Day.
Strong fields and four Group races await at Royal Randwick on Saturday, as a host of spring candidates launch their campaigns.
We head to the Group 2 TAB Furious Stakes (1200m), where the in form Brad Widdup-trained Savvy Hallie comes up as our best bet.
The Hellbent filly raced against the top echelon last preparation with distinction when runner up to Nepotism and Tempted at Group level.
Savvy Hallie has furnished over the break, as was evident with her first up performance when putting away inferior opposition by 5.5 lengths over 900m in a Newcastle Super Maiden on the heavy (9) surface.
Savvy Hallie passed her latest test with flying colours, ploughing through the heavy (10) conditions when pulling out plenty to defeat a strong lineup in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at this track.
From the good barrier tomorrow, Jay Ford has options, but will likely take the sit behind the Waterhouse and Bott-trained Stardom and Agarwood, who both look to take control early.
Third up and with a distinct fitness edge, Savvy Hallie won't have any problem on the firmer race surface after being run down by Tempted on the good track when second in the Group 2 Percy Sykes (1200m) last April.
Hovering around $5, Savvy Hallie looks a great winning prospect.

Our next best comes up in the Group 3 Kia Concorde Stakes (1000m), with the Matthew Smith-trained Headwall.
The six-year-old gelding has excellent fresh credentials and five of his six wins have come over the 1000m.
Headwall placed behind some of the best sprinters in the land, when second to Joliestar in the Group 1 Newmarket and third to Briasa in the Group 1 T J Smith last season.
He returns with the two solid trials and regular rider Zac Lloyd takes the reins from the good gate.
Look for him pouncing late at the each way quote of $5.
