Best bets for the feature nine-race card at Morphettville on Saturday.
Racing heads to the main track at Morphettville for the first time this season, with the G3 Behemoth Stakes (1200m) the headline on a nice race program.
The track will likely race in the soft range and I'm expecting some parts of the track to show some wear and tear from the meeting run on the Heavy 10 conditions a fortnight ago.
I'm keen to bide my time and wait for the last on the card for my best bet, which is emerging four-year-old Fancy Rumble.
He comes out of the Lightning Stakes which was run on that bottomless heavy track and, while he was no match for the winner, I thought there was plenty of merit in the run. He looked to struggle in the going but still managed to find the line once he balanced up.
This is a drop in grade and, on the strength of his debut maiden win prior, I think he can win again back onto a soft track. He's drawn barrier three and gets the services of Todd Pannell, who will give him the right run and account for any track pattern.
He's already been well found in early markets but I'm still happy to bet at the $3.50 that is currently available.
Another horse that has been well found in early betting is Miss Tormenta, who lines up in Race 3. I was really taken with her debut win at Balaklava and, while this is harder, I think she can handle to ride in class.
She can make her own luck on or near the speed and can give plenty of cheek. She's been backed from $15 into $8.50 and, even at that price, I think she's worth an each-way bet.
