Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Armidale, Warren, Ararat, Wodonga, Sunshine Coast and York.

ARMIDALE: RACE 2 @ 2:30 PM

IT'S A WRITTEN (11) fourteen-start maiden who resumes in a winnable contest with the 3kg claim. Sprouted wings from near last on the turn when second over 1200m at Tamworth. Back without a trial and has sprinted well in the past. DUB (3) resumes with some respectable efforts in his first campaign. Brow band goes on and look for him late with the one 1000m trial. ZOUS APOLLO (7) failed to keep in touch at his second career start when a tiring tenth over 1000m at Port Macquarie. Sound debut and worth another chance. INVINCIBOO (10) finally drawn a decent gate and has a key jockey change today. Goes into the exotics.
SELECTIONS: It's A Written can sprint well fresh.

WARREN: RACE 1 @ 1:40 PM

BAWNAGLEN (1) missed the start then went through his gears nicely to get up for fourth last start over 1200m at Scone when second-up from a break. Peaked last prep when third-up. Needs the extra 200m badly and in a thin field looks a nice bet. BILLABONG ALVIN (4) went back last start over this distance at Dubbo and made some late impression without threatening. Runs his best races when ridden forward and that opportunity arises here. Should give a great sight. NOTERBEL (10) led but was easily accounted for last time out over this distance at Dubbo, recording her third minor placing in a row and fourth overall. Will lead or sit second and is sure to give some cheek. YIASOU (12) led for the judge but found the winner far too good over 1200m at Coonabarabran recently. Very fit after three runs back and shouldn't mind the step up in distance. BROADCAST BOOGIE (5) has placed two from five at today's journey and looks the only other feasible chance.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Bawnaglen.

ARARAT: RACE 6 @ 4:15 PM

CHASING APHRODITE (1) has been in the placings at his last two, most recently beaten a lip over 2200m at Hamilton at his third run back. Has the blinkers on for the first time and will be poised just off the lead. Ready to win. CABLE DANCER (5) went close at Moonee Valley and then didn't quite run out the staying trip at Geelong. He tumbles in weight at this level and Bates rides for the first time. Has the blinkers on again and he can bounce back into the finish. COMMANDER HARRY (3) is also third-up and ready to show his best. Finally draws an inside barrier and deserves plenty of consideration. MICKIO (6) always puts in and will run it right out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Chasing Aphrodite.

WODONGA: RACE 1 @ 1:45 PM

BORN SURVIVOR (1) was prominent from the outset and fought on for third over 1400m at Wangaratta. Missed by a similar margin at Bairnsdale prior and will get every chance from a low gate with Brad Rawiller staying aboard. DEEP STREAM (2) has been racing over further and was tracking well before the latest. Drops back to the mile but just missed here when last tried at the trip. JAPPALOUIS (4) has been mixing trips and was plainer in his last two. Maps best and on his best form is one of the key runners. SI SI SIR (6) debuts with the blinkers on and has had a stack of jumpouts. Keep a close eye on the betting moves. MEKA VIBE (5) wasn't far away at Corowa and has a key jockey switch to McDougall. Will be fitter and should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: With Born Survivor.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 2:40 PM

The well-related HIGHGROVE ROSE (5) (half to G2 winner Not An Option) resumes here but got up to Listed level when last in work and has tuned up for this with a recent trial placing. Can run a race while fresh. HIGHLAND KITTY (2) just missed the placings in both career outings before being tipped out for further time to furnish. Has top-three credentials. BELLOVE (10) strips fitter third-up from the spell and only needs some luck navigating from the sticky draw to be playing a role in the finish. BROWN RIVER (1) is facing the starter for the first time and any market confidence must be noted. Include.
SELECTIONS: Highgrove Rose to run a bold race.

YORK: RACE 3 @ 3:48 PM

FLAGSHIP (2) will find this much easier than recent races and he's a course and distance winner in the past. He was in strong form prior to his run last start in a CL3 at Belmont, but this looks a great opportunity for him to bounce back. Cheung's claim comes in handy and he looks the one to beat. ZAC LUVS TO FLY (4) just felt the pinch late first-up over 1100m here, beaten 0.8L. He had to do some work from the wide draw and was coming into that event without a trial. Should have come on from that performance and he'll be hard to gun down. PRETTY DEVINE (1) drops right back from Saturday grade where she was well beaten last time out at Ascot. She was a winner of this track and trip first-up, and that was in this grade as well. Carries more weight today, but she's well placed and can bounce back to form. ENSIGN PULVER (5) is not out of this first-up. DADIRRA (6) can feature in the finish off a short break.
SELECTIONS: Flagship looks the one to beat.
