Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 31.

Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Wagga, Moree, Cranbourne, Kilmore, Ipswich and Launceston.

WAGGA: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM

ROONAMI (10) looks ready to break through after two strong minor placings at Canberra. No tougher here and backing up quickly. Hitting her straps now and is the one to beat. NOIR VITESSE (1) made a cracking return off a long break on the Riverside, charging home to just miss over 1200m. Strips fitter and should enjoy the rise in trip, though second-up off a long layoff is a slight query. BELNERA (5) improved sharply last start when sent forward and can give another bold sight. HIP HIP OLE (9) boxed on well into fourth on debut at Bathurst, better for the run and keeps Keatings. Worth including. SUPER NIC (4) was midfield when resuming, steps up in trip and keeps McDougall. Each-way chance.
SELECTIONS: Roonami to win.

MOREE: RACE 6 @ 4:40 PM

JACKA STANDS ALONE (4) resumes for Pat Webster off an Open 3 win at Rockhampton. He's proven first-up and owns a 7.3L Gatton trial win. This is a suitable kick-off point and a bold run is on the cards. TAKEMINE (10) was outgraded in town and then was back on track beaten 2.25L over 1100m at Armidale. Looker rides today, and she tumbles in weight. That brings her right into it. I AM A WINNER (5) was back in the winners' circle on the same day. He's switched from a Sydney barn and has been racing at provincial level. Keeps the 2kg claim and he can make the finish. MR ENCORE (7) went close twice at Gatton and the speedy galloper can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Jacka Stands Alone rates well.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 1 @ 5:45 PM

FUTURE FRANKIE (8) looks the one to beat. Her debut here over 1600m was excellent when charging home from last before tackling the G3 Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield and battling home for a midfield finish. Fancy she'd be a rough hope in the VRC Oaks and she should be breaking the maiden here. AFRICAN GREY (1) is the danger having found the line very nicely over this trip on debut. Possibly gives the danger a start from the wide gate but will be improved and can win. Outside of those two, GRINZINGER TUNDRA (6) was poor last time but had been coming along well prior and up in trip may now suit this Russian Camelot gelding. SCORPION BAY (2) is third up and can sneak into the minors.
SELECTIONS: Future Frankie to win.

KILMORE: RACE 6 @ 4:30 PM

TATSU (1) knuckled down strongly to get within a nose of the winner in second last start over 1447m at Geelong and that horse has again won since, so the form stacks up. Just got a tricky gate to contend with. SHOWMARA (12) was having his first run for the Shane Nichols & Hayden Black stable last start when he made steady ground to run into second over 1200m at this track at the first run back from a spell. Expected to run well again. ANCHOR DOWN (6) came home strongly last start to finish third, beaten 1.3 lengths, over 1400m at Ballarat. Will be winding up late. MAGIC EDITION (10) hasn't been out of the top four in eight runs this prep, many of them in races with more depth than this, so hard to see her not weighing in.
SELECTIONS: Tatsu to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 3:27 PM

CARDONETTE (4) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up in both starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Thompson stays in the stirrups and should be going one better against this lot. YOUMEANDDUPRE (5) resumes here but the form he showed last campaign was good enough for a race of this calibre. Revved up for this winning two recent trials and should be right there at the business end. OUR GIRL SCARLETT (11) just missed the placings in town when resuming and will have come on with that run now in the locker. Top-three candidate. ELUSIVE DOMINA (9) best of the rest while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Cardonette to shed the maiden tag.

LAUNCESTON: RACE 8 @ 9:30 PM

WILLINGLY (3) wasn't far away when resuming here over 1200m after she got a long way back in the run. Won here at her only start over this longer sprint and the step up suits now. The premier jockey has won on the mare, and he's reunited. Tough to roll. GEE GEES ME BOY (1) returned from a spell four weeks ago and didn't have the best of it beaten 3.5L. Darmanin switches to the above but he maps well and has plenty up his sleeve. BAYBOUGG (5) improved last time in the Willingly race. Byrne Burke is a positive jockey engagement and she'd be in the finish if she found her best. NO ACCESS (4) turned in a better run last start, beaten just 0.9L into fourth over 1400m at this track. Maps well and has the blinkers applied again. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Willingly appeals most..
