Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 20.
Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Muswellbrook, Echuca and Mount Isa.
MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 1 @ 1:15 PM
HIBIKI HARMONY (1) has been going well for some time now in better races than this. Led for home and tried very hard but was ambushed near the line last start in a BM66 over 1450m here. Beautifully placed to take this out despite the 61kgs. DREYMON (7) wasn't suited dropping back in trip last time out and failed to feature over 1206m at Port Macquarie. Raced here once at this distance and filled a minor placing. Well placed to run a much better race this time. FLEETLY (8) appreciated the drop in grade when runner-up in a BM50 at Mudgee recently. Very fit after three runs back and should now measure up in this company. SHADOW DANE (3) won a Class 2 first-up in heavy going but has been plain in two subsequent runs on good tracks. On an eight-day back-up and might be worth including in exotics. SANZENO (2) didn't fire when resuming at Tamworth but is better placed out to this distance.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Hibiki Harmony.

ECHUCA: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM
COWARRIE (1) was beaten a nose at Seymour improving again and then tacked longer at Geelong but lacked finishing dash. Suited back to a middle distance at country level and maps for the run of the race. Looks a great chance to break through. JUSTIFIED AT LAST (6) is better than the formline suggests. Got to within 3.5L stepping up to this trip at Ballarat and that effort would see her in the money. DEEP STREAM (2) worked home well to grab third at long odds at Kilmore over 2000m. Finally draws a low gate and is on a quick back-up. Likely to feature. JAPPALOUIS (4) will use the inside barrier and was better again when narrowly beaten at Gunbower over 1800m This is tougher but he is sure to be around the mark. HARD GRUNT (3) is going well enough to consider.
SELECTIONS: Backing Cowarrie.
MT ISA: RACE 2 @ 1:05 PM
FRENCH EMPIRE (3) was rewarded with his maiden success last start, scoring by 1.75 lengths over 1200m at Jundah. Shaping up nicely and he can go right on with it now. BITTERBLUE (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at Richmond Qld, beaten 5 lengths into fifth. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within his grasp. COMBS (2) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on 7/08/2025, finishing fifth and beaten 5.5 lengths over 1450m at this track. Has to be respected. CORVALIST (1) registered his first win last start over 1000m at Cloncurry, getting home by 0.8 lengths. Michael McDonald was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the mount. Must be respected now that the penny has dropped.
SELECTIONS: French Empire to go back-to-back.
