Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 18.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Caulfield, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Ascot.
RANDWICK: RACE 4 @ 2:15 PM
PERFUMIST (7) took control early here last start and absolutely toyed with her rivals, running to a new peak with the clock backing her up. Doubt she gets it as easy but it's impossible to ignore that effort. IDLE FLYER (10) chased hard behind her last time but was found to have an issue post-race, so further merit is added to the run. Has returned in great order and she can turn the tables. JUST FEELIN' LUCKY (3) was below her best at the Valley but her Wyong win prior was top shelf. Forgive run, assess on that effort, and she's in the mix. SHOHISHA (8) loves it here, unbeaten over the course and trip, and can bounce back with even luck. VERONA ROSE (4) will be running on late and is a must for exotics.
SELECTIONS: Perfumist to win.

CAULFIELD: RACE 4 @ 2:00 PM
Keen to be with TENTYRIS (2) here. A G2 winner as a 2yo, he was off an injury enforced layoff leading into his fresh run in the G2 Danehill Stakes and the market was keen to oppose him, drifting out to $7.50. Despite that, his run was very good. The outside runners dominated straight racing all day and he was only beaten 1.5 lengths, the first to finish of the inside division. Fitter now and suited around a bend, he'll sit just off them and let rip late. MCGAW (1) won the Danehill as the widest runner as a $15 chance, running relatively slick overall time in the process. He'll land in a good spot here and can repeat the dose. RAGING FORCE (3) comes down from Sydney. His winning streak came to an end in the G2 Run To The Rose, a fast 1200m against the likes of Tempted and Beiwacht seeing him out. If he gets an easy time on speed he'll be very hard to catch. RIPLEY (6) was an easy maiden winner fresh and can run well, ALEPPO PINE (4) perhaps next best although the trip is a query.
SELECTIONS: Tentyris to win.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 6 @ 4:23 PM
BOSSED UP (5) loves this sprint journey with two wins and four placings from just seven attempts and will be cherry-ripe now third-up from the spell. Gets Maloney back on top from a low draw and will be right there at the business end. BARBERRY SPUR (16) got the maiden out of the way at Doomben before being tipped out for further time to furnish. Looks the runner in this field with the most upside and can make his presence felt while fresh. SPEEDY ONE (4) is a three-time winner over this trip and will be at peak fitness for this. Top-three credentials on best form. BREMEL (10) brings NSW formlines to the table and should be kept very safe. MOULIN MISS (9) makes some appeal while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Bossed Up to salute.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 2:09 PM
Really think GURU WARRIOR (4) is a progressive middle-distance and staying horse that can continue his rise through the grades here. He stepped up to 1950m last start and won well, maintaining his unbeaten record beyond 1600m. This is a harder race in theory but it's not the deepest race on paper. He's drawn well to get a perfect run, Holder sticks and he can win again. SAVATOFF (8) is racing well in easier class this campaign. He's never won beyond 1600m but he looks some chance from a good draw with Milnes aboard. The Victorian visitor VELLASMACHINE (2) must be some chance. He's got more upside than most here and hit the line well at the end of 1500m last time. He was very good at his only run over 2000m last preparation. WHATSANAMEGEORGE (5) brings winning form and must be respected here, while JACKSON RUN (10) has started to show a bit more and looks a place chance.
SELECTIONS: Backing Guru Warrior to win.
ASCOT: RACE 4 @ 4:55 PM
Sticking with MAGNA'S CHOICE (4). Won his first two career starts then was beaten just a length in stakes class. Had just one run last time in and was a close-up third. Fitter for the two trials and on what he's shown in limited starts so far is the one to beat if presented on song. SPARKLE CORNER (8) is also back from a break. Fitter for two trials and is a speedy type who has placed fresh. Can give a sight. PURE EXCESS (11) placed in both runs in first campaign before another break. Sure to have improved and will be fitter for the one trial. Light weight and low draw for return and worth keeping safe. CLEANEMUP (2) has been thereabouts and was solid in a richer race last time. Senior rider back on and worth another try. INVINCIBLE POWER (3) resumes from a long spell. Fitter for the one trial and placed only try at course and distance. Pike aboard and worth keeping safe.
SELECTIONS: Magna's Choice should run well.
