Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 04.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Flemington, Doomben and Morphettville.
RANDWICK: RACE 5 @ 2:25 PM
IDLE FLYER (19) added to her imposing record with a tough win over 1400m here a fortnight ago. Failed over this trip last prep but it was at the end of the campaign in stakes grade. Goes from a 78 to a 94 today but with the limit weight another win is on the cards. EMIRATE (17) was unlucky first-up at Rosehill then struggled to get involved in a Listed race at Flemington last time. Five of his eight runs to date have been at black type level - of the other three appearances he has won twice. Worth another chance back in Sydney. POLYMNIA (20) raced handy but was no match for Idle Flyer here recently when fresh from a four-month spell. Finds it hard to win but with just 52kgs and out to a more suitable trip she should be competitive. PERFUMIST (13) showed she was back to something like her best when edged out in a blanket finish over this course and distance last start. Should get a cosy run up on the speed and will be hard to catch. Specialist miler TIME QUEST (10) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Idle Flyer and Emirate.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 6 @ 3:15 PM
TENTYRIS (1) clearly on top, resuming for his second campaign. He was excellent when just missing in the G1 Blue Diamond at his third start before going to Sydney and beating the likes of Wodeton and Beiwacht in the G2 Todman Stakes before an issue ruled him out of starting near-favourite in the Golden Slipper. Very well suited at the set weights here, he can put his hand up as one of the horses to beat in the Coolmore next month. LEGACY BOUND (4) kept his unbeaten record intact with a gritty win first up in the Poseidon Stakes here at 1100m. Fancy the dash home didn't suit, a stronger test can see him improve quickly. MY GLADIOLA (8) won the Cap D'antibes in faster time than Legacy Bound on the same day and has to be respected. ROSBERG (6) is the big query. The big spruik landed on debut to win the Mckenzie but that wasn't the strongest race. No doubt he can elevate but he'll need to. TYCOON STAR (2) next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tentyris & Legacy Bound.
DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:33 PM
The well-related PROFOUNDLY (2) (half to G3 winner Sebonack) was well in the betting at the Gold Coast at the latest effort but just ran into a couple better on that occasion. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and gets in well at the weights with the 3kg claim. Should be right there at the business end. DUSHENKA (1) returned in good order with a close-up second and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and is capable of taking this out. CASTELLO GRANDE (4) had been improving with racing and that culminated with a dominant Sunny Coast victory last time out. In the mix. LONESOME SOUL (3) rounds out the selections.
SELECTIONS: Profoundly to salute.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 6 @ 4:02 PM
A modest race on paper and a very winnable assignment for PELEVECCHIO (2), who is second-up to 1600m. She found the line nicely at the end of 1400m. She looks to have the class edge on these, especially given her form in Stakes races as a three-year-old. Opperman is a plus, as is barrier two. UNPRAISED (7) looks the danger. She's progressing through her grades nicely this campaign and is racing with confidence. She's got no weight after the claim. TOWER OF TUSCANY (3) was good chasing a smart one in a sit-sprint and his late effort was as good as the winner. He can settle closer from the inside draw. GRINZINGER HALO (5) and BOOM BANG (1) are both recent winners that deserve some thought as top three chances here.
SELECTIONS: Backing Pelevecchio to win.
