Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 26.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Monee Valley, Lismore, Scone, Scone, Sunshine Coast, Coleraine, Ewan and Darwin.
MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 4 @ 7:45 PM
Impossible to go past VINROCK (1) who beat plenty of key rivals in the Exford Plate at Flemington last time out. He carried 59.5kg there and now meets the ones behind him better at the weights. While he got an easy time on speed there, he'll get map favours again rolling forward and really should be winning again. WEST OF SWINDON (2) is still a maiden but did fight on gamely for second behind Vinrock when racing wide. It'll be a tough ask to turn the tables given the 1.75 length margin and 2.5kg weight swing but at least he won't be caught wide from barrier one. PRESTIGE OLE (4) was first up in the Exford Plate and ran on well from back in the field. He profiles as if a mile will suit nicely. HIGHVOL (3) and HILLIER (5) come through the same race and have place claims.
SELECTIONS: Vinrock to win.

LISMORE: RACE 4 @ 2:29 PM
KING OF NAPLES (2) worked home stylishly first-up at the Gold Coast, charging late into second. Has always shown talent and is sure to strip fitter with that run under his belt. The step up in trip looks ideal and he shapes as the one to beat. THE ASTRONOMER (3) comes through the same race when favourite and just felt the pinch late after a break. Fitter now and a proven winner at this distance, he gets every chance from the soft draw. Big threat. SKYWOLF (4) is rock-hard fit and has been holding his form well. Loves some give in the ground so connections will hope for those conditions. MAXIMUM VORTEX (1) is a noted fresh performer and arrives off a sharp trial win. Big weight but well drawn and should run boldly. JACK BE LUCKY (5) is a true distance specialist and is worth including in the exotics.
SELECTIONS: King Of Naples to win.
SCONE: RACE 3 @ 2:50 PM
COOL WATERS (11) went close in a Gosford trial and followed with a 1L defeat at Coffs Harbour on debut as a $2.0F. She stalked the lead and is sure to have taken improvement. Morgan rides and she is ready to take the next step. BALLY ISLE (7) is a leader who impressed again beaten a nose in a Tamworth CL1. Draws to advantage and also has decent claims. KANTISHNA (3) is right up to this at best and presents third-up back plenty in class. Has the tongue tie on for the first time and despite the wide gate deserves plenty of consideration. EDGE OF MIDNIGHT (5) draws well and would be a chance if he put his best foot forward.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Cool Waters.
BENALLA: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM
DRAMATICUS (1) was a winner in 64 grade first-up and has raced exclusively in city grade ever since. Was a nice third in the first of them, the pattern was against second up and then not beaten far in BM70 grade last start when he started $6. A repeat of that effort will be good enough to win this. BIDEN TIME (6) returned to something like his best last time out, which was at this venue, where he has had two starts for a win and a second placing. MRS SECOMBE (8) hasn't been beaten far in two runs this prep and looks ready for 1600m now. DISMOUNT (10) did beat Biden Time last start, so if you like that galloper you've got to concede Dismount a chance. THE BANTAM (7) was highly-fancied in a weaker race last time but gets the chance to improve up in trip from a low draw.
SELECTIONS: Dramaticus to win.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 6:30 PM
FROTHSAY (5) just ran into one better around this circuit last time out and looks to be working up to a maiden victory. Graham sticks in the saddle following that last-start placing and should get a gun run in transit from gate two. Rates the testing material against this line-up. The well-related ASPIRE TO WIN (1) (full to 3xG3 winner Minhaaj) just missed the placings over this track and trip last time out and strips fitter third-up from the break. Looms as the main danger. CASTELLO GRANDE (11) is improving with racing and looks ready for the step-up to the mile journey now. Top-three aspirations. CONTINENT (3) was okay over this course and distance on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. Gets some weight off from the inside alley and cannot be discounted. ZEDIQUETTE (10) is a former Victorian who should find this easier than what she faced down south. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Frothsay to shed the maiden tag.
COLERAINE: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM
Looks a good race for VIPERION (5). Close to the winner in the blanket finish fresh then close-up again latest. Ready to win and gets chance. PROPHET'S CHOICE (4) hasn't been far away in two runs back from a break as well. Has the blinkers added for this and has placed third-up. Goes close on best. BASTYAN (8) has been kept fresh since a solid fourth last time and finished a shade ahead of Prophet's Choice. Well weighted in this with the claim and will be charging home late. DA PLANE DA PLANE (1) took a long time to get off the mark but broke through last time over the border in a 900m dash. Could well go on with it now. THE LAST JUDGEMENT (7) is going better than the form suggests and was only 1.5 lengths from the winner last time. Has the ability and is among the main hopes.
SELECTIONS: Viperion gets chance.
EWAN: RACE 1 @ 2:01 PM
REDLIGHTS ON (2) switched from a NSW yard and resumed off a long break with a 1.4L defeat at Bowen. That's good form for this and the in-form Whiteley sticks aboard and can use the inside gate. DASHING GYPSY (5) got too far back at Townsville 48 days ago, but had gone close there and at Mackay prior. That form would see her hard to beat, and off the freshen she's worth another chance. SHE'S A SWEET STAR (8) was heading in the right direction before a plain effort off a wide gate at Townsville, where she raced new. Has a low gate today and a 3kg claim, and can go better. SECRET BOOM (3) just missed in the bush as favourite last time, showing more like his best form. He should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Redlights On.
DARWIN: RACE 2 @ 2:59 PM
FRAWLEY (1) chases three on the trot and is still not giving away too much weight. He probably sits behind the leaders here. Has some gear changes as well but hard to knock how he is going at all. KISSING SUPIDO (2) can be a bit up and down but two back showed his good form. He can control the race and go when they want to. Just has to run the trip. PHYSICAL GRAFFITI (3) was a winner from a decent form race a month ago. He does race well when having that gap between runs. RISING FIRE (6) has been mostly consistent this campaign. THE GIRL'S BOY (4) keeps finding the placings. Needs that little bit more.
SELECTIONS: Frawley to win once more.
