Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 09.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Grafton, Queanbeyan, Warrnambool and Townsville.
GRAFTON: RACE 5 @ 3:50 PM
BETTA THAN PRESLEY (2) lightly raced gelding who finds his race fifth up. Up to the 1200m for the first time when nailed late to finish second at Beaudesert. No excuses today from the good draw. WARRIOR BAE (11) another from the Dunn stable who loomed strongly on resumption before peaking late when fourth over 1100m at Beaudesert. Ready for this trip and sure to be thereabouts. ZOUMAN ALONG (10) former Victorian gelding now in the Declan Maher stable. Has a host of gear changes for this and fitter after the 1000m trial at Doomben. Respect. THE BIG TICKET (15) covered ground in the run when an unlucky fifth over 1200m at Port Macquarie. Shouldered the 59kg on that occasion and stays in the mix with the 55kg.
SELECTIONS: Betta Than Presley to get off the mark.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 6 @ 4:10 PM
LADY REVOLUTION (5) led narrowly beaten at Moruya first-up and then started at double-figure odds at Bathurst and raced accordingly. She will be better for that and finally draws an inside gate. She's in a sharp local stable and is ready to find her best. THAT A BOY (4) resumes at home and flies at the track/distance. Owen sticks aboard from a trial at Moruya and expect him to be on song and in the finish. ARANCIONE (3) will be much more competitive than the form line suggests. She's been close-up at Moruya her last two and positions forward. Has won this track/distance and has claims. LORD FINLAND (1) is in a smart Canberra yard and it won't surprise if he shows more. Maps for a soft on-pace run, and the 2kg claim is handy. GEOSTORM (9) races forward and has gone close at Bathurst and Wellington most recently. He will run along from the inside barrier, and Cahill is a positive jockey booking.
SELECTIONS: Backing Lady Revolution.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
JENNY THE BEAVER (4) was tested in much stronger races in town but appreciated a drop back to BM70 company here last time out and ran a much better race, just finding the in-form jumper Noonday Gun too strong over this trip. She comes back in grade again to a BM56 here with Prebble still claiming 1.5kg from a good draw. Rates highly. SUFFOLK STAR (6) is racing consistently, working home well his past couple over 2400m. Should have no issue staying the longer journey but does draw to get back again. WISAKA (2) can mix his form but was good here last time in a highweight race when third. He was behind Jenny The Beaver when they met prior but has solid claims. MY SYMPHONY (5) is the one with some upside at just his sixth start and he could be the improver.
SELECTIONS: Jenny The Beaver to win.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 3 @ 2:42 PM
GOING NUCLEAR (4) grows a leg for hoop Kendal who has three wins and a placing from just five steers and again gets the benefit of her 2kg claim. Has only missed a drum once in eight spins around this circuit and should be going very close to getting the chocolates. Former NSW galloper BLAZERRO (8) has been right there in all three starts since joining the new stable including a strong Mackay win two back. Has to be included in calculations. STRATHCONA (7) has won two from three over this course and distance and strips fitter third-up from the spell. Top-three commodity. SOLAR APEX (2) hasn't measured up in the Cairns and Townsville Cups of late but will find this assignment much easier. Can bounce back. MAJOR ARTIE (6) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.
SELECTIONS: Going Nuclear to continue the rich vein of form.
