Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 07.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Gundagai, Mudgee, Bendigo,
Bairnsdale, Kilcoy, Kalgoorlie and Devonport Synthetic.
GUNDAGAI: RACE 6 @ 4:21 PM
NEWYORK MISSILE (2) in career best form and better suited out to the 1800m. Stalked the good tempo when a fighting second over 1600m at Narrandera in a decent rating C3. Maps well with winning rider back aboard and expected to go close. BOY FROM TENNESSEE (9) mixing his form and doesn't have to improve much after running third over the mile at Narrandera. Sure to be hereabouts. GREY LAD (7) returned to winning form at Berrigan and stays in the calculations with the big drop in weight. Each way player. STAR EMPIRE (8) placed last start at Wagga stepping out to the mile. Stuck on there as if the rise to 1800m will suit.
SELECTIONS: Newyork Missile in a tight contest.

MUDGEE: RACE 2 @ 2:20 PM
ZORKO (8) did more than enough in what was a fairly strong trial at Scone to say he can produce a big run on debut. Has drawn out but expect he'll go forward and if he finds a good spot should be right in the finish. SINGLE SHY (6) held her ground on debut in an 800m scamper so stepping up in trip will be in her favour. Gets a good run and worth keeping in mind with improvement on the run likely. MAYBE NOW (2) had some mixed form last preparation but recent trial was handy and not a lot of depth here. WESTERN WARRIOR (1) and FIN'S FINALE (5) have trialled okay leading into this and could show up.
SELECTIONS: Zorko to win.
BENDIGO: RACE 7 @ 4:26 PM
FOIRE DE TRONE (6) has been well found by the market at her past couple and wasn't far from making it two straight last time. Fourth-up now, she's nearing her peak and looks a strong threat despite tackling this distance for the first time. UNTETHERED (1) doesn't win out of turn but is as genuine as they come, rarely putting in a bad one. Proven at this trip with an unblemished record in the placings and aided by a 3kg claim, he looks set to give another bold sight. THURMOND (3) has struck form nicely with back-to-back wins and is still on the up. With Meech sticking, he'll take catching if allowed to roll along. REZONE (2) has been plain since resuming but is fitter now and his best form from last prep reads well. Capable of surprising if he finds that spark again.
SELECTIONS: Foire De Trone to win.
BAIRNSDALE: RACE 6 @ 4:40 PM
ANTHURIUM (1) was beaten less than 2L this distance range at Sandown-Lakeside and then didn't have much luck there over a staying trip. This suits much better and hitting peak fitness, he's the one to beat. CUDMORE STREET (3) was slow off at Moe but he went close here the two before over a mile. He gets another chance this distance range. MARLIN (2) went close at Sale and then came from the back beating the Pakenham-synthetic Maidens over this distance. On a quick backup up and will be right in it bringing that form back to the turf. MISS DARKSIDE (5) deserves plenty of consideration on her near miss this track/distance two back. Maps to get every chance. WOMEN IN UNIFORM (6) has been racing solidly on the synthetic. Tackled this trip last time on the synthetic and wasn't far away after conceding a big start.
SELECTIONS: Backing Anthurium.
KILCOY: RACE 1 @ 1:30 PM
MALBEC MAN (4) is unlucky to still be a maiden placing in all three career outings to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Will be ready to peak now third-up from the spell and the extra furlong should suit. Rates the testing material. SILVIO DANTE (6) will find this assignment easier than what he's been facing of late and gets some weight relief with the claim. Looms as the main danger. SUPIDO ROSE (10) placed over this track and trip two back before not measuring up at the Sunny Coast last time out. Worth another chance. EMBEZZLED HEART (2) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Malbec Man to shed the maiden tag.
KALGOORLIE: RACE 7 @ 6:30 PM
The Coolgardie Cup now where SENTIMENTAL HERO (3) goes on top after a sound first-up effort at Belmont. He'll be better for that run and boasts a strong second-up record where he's never missed the placings. This looks to set up beautifully for him on his home track and a return to winning ways is on the cards. GINGER BAKER (1) comes through the Listed Idyllic Prince however where he was very game up front when right back in trip. He was off a freshen there, but is better suited over this trip today and Parnham reunites. Can take up the running again and prove hard to mow down. FEUDING (7) is hard to knock on recent form and wasn't beaten far here a fortnight ago. The draw is sticky, but he's a consistent gelding who has is not to be discounted down in the weights. DECORATION (6) was too good last start when beating IT'S A LANCE (8) and they both have claims on the back of that performance.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Sentimental Hero.
DEVONPORT SYNTHETIC: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM
ALPINE DAME (5) led them up and missed a whisker here 3 weeks ago. Peaks and gets in light with the 3kg claim. She's the one they have to beat. MISS TIINA (8) resumed in the same contest and went close as well. She's further improved but has a wide gate to contend with today. A chance, all the same. LADY ATLAS (7) resumes and has switched from a Victorian stable. She's been racing in stronger and was last seen in June, jumping out well at Cranbourne. Has the blinkers on for the first time and is worth a betting watch. STROAK OF ART (10) debuts and draws the rail. Won his most recent trial here, and he's likely to go well. CLOVER HILL (6) resumes and her trials suggest she may be back on track. She showed some good form early doors.
SELECTIONS: Backing Alpine Dame.
