Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 05.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Canberra, Wyong, Mornington,
Birdsville and Sunshine Coast.
CANBERRA: RACE 2 @ 1:10 PM
SHE'S HIGH SOCIETY (6) resumed with a tidy placing on the turf and then missed a nose on the Acton synthetic before being outgraded on that surface following. Much better suited today, and the 2kg claim brings her right into it. In the premier local stable and is the one to beat. AEGIPAN (4) will be much more competitive than the form line suggests. He led at Goulburn two-back beaten 1.8L in stronger and didn't appreciate the Acton synthetic last time. He will run along over the shorter sprint and take passing. BEAU ROCK (5) continues to race well and assess his chances on the 1.4L defeat at Moruya two back. He races forward and Penza will give him every hope. Tougher sorting the remainder. SINGLE BEAT (10) is a likely improver from a smart local yard.
SELECTIONS: Backing She's High Society.

WYONG: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM
ATELIER (1) returned from a spell in a $50k Class 3 at Goulburn and did a fine job in the heavy going to finish second over 1300m. Won second-up last prep then went on to be competitive at stakes level. Strips fitter and looks a class above her rivals. AZARAX (9) showed pace on debut over 1300m at this track then dug deep to get the chocolates in an impressive start to his career. Has trialled well since that run six weeks ago and looks capable of taking this next step. READY AND LUCKY (10) relished the return to a rain affected surface when successful last start in a BM66 at Muswellbrook. Just one minor placing from seven dry track runs is alarming - keep tabs on the track condition. MONTY BE QUICK (2) scored a tough win here first-up then dropped out of contention on a bottomless Kensington track last time. Can bounce back under today's conditions. LEASE (7) doesn't win out of turn but his stats at today's trip read well.
SELECTIONS: Atelier to win.
MORNINGTON: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM
Competitive. IMMERSE (9) switched from James Cummings and struck immediately when winning heavily-bet on the synthetic. She brought strong Maiden turf form to that and has more to offer. Placed her only second-up run and she can take the next step. STEAMY MIST (8) resumed in a 64 at Cranbourne with a nose defeat and then disappointed at Bendigo. Presents fitter and is worth another chance at the each-way quote. Wary of NOT SURPRISED (7) resuming off a long break for a leasing metre yard. She's raced at Stakes level and was spelled after one start last preparation. She's one both her jumpouts with race-rider McNeil aboard and promote her in the pecking order if serious money comes. NORMANDY LASS (6) will use the inside gate and was an easy Bairnsdale Maiden winner first-up. Showing promise and will get every chance to build on that.
SELECTIONS: Having something on Steamy Miss each way.
BIRDSVILLE: RACE 6 @ 4:42 PM
It is obviously hard to be critical of the form of REVOLT (3). He has got the picket fence going. Even going up in weight probably won't be the stopper as he will lead and be hard to run down. SOOPAT (4) has had admirers in all his recent efforts. Even when beaten he is never far away. It isn't the best of barriers though. ZENA BOY (11) is another who would be even a better show had he not drawn the widest marble. He is definitely going as well as he can. THERESABEARINTHERE (6) is the winner of 11 races and got another one two weeks ago. ON HOLD (2) is a value hope at her most favourable distance.
SELECTIONS: Revolt to keep going.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 6:00 PM
MAN OF THE TOWN (3) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough for a race of this calibre. Hoop Cartwright has been in irons for all three career placings and sticks here. Can return a winner. RUSTY TYCOON (13) has been just behind the placings in both career outings and gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claim. Bold showing expected. LA GRACIA (8) brings NSW formlines to the table and any market confidence must be noted. ELROND (2) strips fitter second-up from the spell and must be respected from the Munce camp. Top-three credentials. BOLD MARIE (7) best of the rest despite the wide draw.
SELECTIONS: Man Of The Town to break through while fresh.
