Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Ipswich, Strathalbyn and Pinjarra.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 5 @ 3:45 PM
FAIRWAY STAR (4) relished the drop in grade and extra trip when a fast finishing winner over this track and distance in good style on July 30. Gets a similar setup today and looks the one to beat again. INVESTMENT (6) massive form reversal third up when coming out of the pack late for a surprise head win over 1800m at Randwick in BM78 company. Loves the conditions and is expected to handle the drop back to the mile. Each way. AMERICAN STARLET (12) consistent mare with her hoof on the till fifth up. Raced much closer to the speed when a fighting second over this trip here behind Fairway Star. Key jockey change and a win looks imminent. KAPAKIRI (2) nice effort from back in the field on resumption, when he launched late for a narrow fifth over 1400m at Randwick Kensington. Gets through the conditions and looks a leading player.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 6 @ 3:55 PM
DAMEHOOD (9) has been saved for this and peaks off a 2L defeat at Caulfield in much tougher. She covered ground and hit the line well. Brown is a key switch replacing the apprentice, and the mare may sit closer today from a better gate. Either way, she's ready to win. NEPRAVDA (5) resumed here in a 70 beaten 1.3L. She won her only second-up outing and has plenty up her sleeve. She's likely to control the race, and Bates' 2kg claim is handy. HERE THE CROWD (4) has been busting to win and didn't have the best of here last time. Is holding a decent level of form and has a 3kg claimer aboard today. That brings her right into it. CLIMB THE LADDER (3) resumed for Waller at Rosehill 18 days ago and didn't handle the heavy conditions. He's been switched south and won his only second-up start at this track, thrashing the Maidens by 4.8L over 1400m. He maps for a soft run, and Lane is a key jockey booking. Sharp improvement is on the cards.
SELECTIONS: Damehood to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 3 @ 2:53 PM
WIMOWEH (12) is unlucky to still be a maiden placing in seven of her past eight starts and strikes a winnable contest here. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and should be going very close to shedding the maiden tag. SLIPSAIN (4) showed ability placing at Doomben on debut before a less than impressive performance second time at the races. Gets Jones in the irons to navigate from the sticky draw and a return to form would not surprise. SHE'S GOT LYRICS (10) has finished runner-up in two of her past three and must be respected from the Gollan yard. Top-three credentials. KURITHEA (14) hasn't been too far away in both career outings and maps perfectly from gate five. In the mix. PISTON REBEL (3) rounds out the selections in a competitive maiden.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 8 @ 4:50 PM
Open race to end the card with several winning chances. ROYAL TRAPEZE (3) is one of those and he looks on the cusp of a breakthrough. He had excuses last start and wasn't beaten far in a decent form race the start prior. He's drawn to get all the favours for an in-form Matt Chadwick. He looks like one of the top seeds. PULAMBI (7) has been tackling stronger races lately and should appreciate the class drop here. She only needs to repeat her performance last start to be in the finish. BUBBLE OVER (9) is capable on her day but her recent form is only fair. This is her last chance but if she can return to anything like her best, she's an each-way prospect. PRINCE REICHWEITE (15) and SUPER LAD (4) are others worth considering for exotics and quaddies.
SELECTIONS: Backing Royal Trapeze to win.
PINJARRA: RACE 4 @ 3:27 PM
CHOUX SHOE (2) flew home to win two back and just missed under similar circumstances last start at Belmont. On the quick turnaround now and up to the mile which looks a big tick. Drawn to sit closer in the run and everything points to a forward showing. YOUGIVEMECHILLS (5) bounced back to form last start at Northam with a narrow win over 1300m. He's up in trip today, but it looks to suit the son of Frosted and he should get his chance from the inside barrier. Can repeat the dose. STATE OF FURY (8) dropped back in trip last start at Belmont and dipped in form, but the step up in distance can see her right in the mix. She was good here two back over 1500m and she can play a leading role with no weight on his back. HIGH PRECISION (10) was far too good at Kalgoorlie last start and is not to be discounted with no weight on his back. OPAL TANGO (9) can improve now third-up into the campaign.
SELECTIONS: Choux Shoe looks the one to beat.
