Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 11.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Goulburn and Ballarat Synthetic.
GOULBURN: RACE 7 @ 4:45 PM
DUKE OF CAMDEN (1) has returned a much stronger gelding and looking for the 1400m now. Raced without cover with the 59kg when a game fifth over 1200m at Wyong. Will go back from the draw and pounce late. Hard to hold out. BENAMERA (5) holding his form on the provincial tracks and set to peak fourth up. Returned good closing splits from the outside gate when third over 1350m at Wyong. Well placed over this trip and will be doing his best work late. GREYGENTA (12) appreciated the extra ground second up when racing closer to the speed for a respectable third over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Stays in the calculations. WRITE YOUR OWN (3) knocked up late on resumption when fourth over 1200m at the Sapphire Coast. Further improved and will appreciate the extra ground. Each way.
SELECTIONS: Duke Of Camden to bounce back.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM
TAUNG (1) is starting to put it all together. Was tested in open class and stakes class when out in journey last time in and didn't quite measure up. But after a break and back to maiden class was too good fresh. Fitter and the extra trip a plus so on home track again looks the one to beat. SHOOTER MCGAVIN (2) was facing a long drought before a confidence-boosting win last time, albeit in a Highweight. Drops significantly in weight here, then some more with the claim, and now back in touch could go on with it. PONTMEIRION (4) has strong together a host of minors, the latest when beaten a lip here over 1400m. Long overdue and looks a top chance to be in the finish once more. KAWA (3) was a winner here fresh then tackled richer grade on the turf and soft conditions and was safely held. Comes back home, fitter and can bounce back. WHERE YA BEAN (6) has had a couple of runs here recently when led and weakened over further. On a quick backup and back in trip could give a sight at odds.
SELECTIONS: Follow up with Taung.
