Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 07.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Kembla Grange, Tamworth, Ballarat, Northam and Mount Isa.
KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM
WILD THOUGHTS (2) trained locally and starting to put it altogether. Started a solid ($1.45 fav), at his second run back when a dominant winner over this track and trip. Finds a fairly average contest again and looks hard to stop. AFLOAT (3) sat on the solid tempo when proving too strong at his first run back, scoring over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Expected to go on with it now and placed at this track and trip. Serious player. ICEMAN (4) due for a change of luck after finishing in the minor money at four of his last five outings. Launched late with a game second to Cold Brew over 1400m at Newcastle. That form has been franked with Cold Brew winning in Midway grade last Saturday. Must be kept safe. GWENDIE (9) much better effort at her second run back when running on late to finish second here over the mile. Winkers go on and can get through the conditions.
SELECTIONS: Wild Thoughts to win again.

TAMWORTH: RACE 6 @ 2:45 PM
SMART JAZZ (4) is free running and found the step up to 1800m too much in a Randwick Highway 12 days ago. He was only beaten 1.9L there prior in the same grade over a mile and brought decent country sprint form to that. He will push forward and find this more suitable. HALLE BEE (12) was well bet and belted the Maidens here by 4L. She held that figure in a CL1 at Moree, following, and the on-pacer will get every chance to bounce. SAINTLY SANDS (11) will give away a start, but she's an improver in the Northam yard, and her Maiden win here two back reads well enough. She keeps the handy 2kg claim. GREAT IDEA (5) won his Maiden here as expected and will be better for that. Bullock's booking is a push for his chances.
SELECTIONS: Smart Jazz gets his chance at this level.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
SHAY'S WAY (10) is ready to win after two placed efforts at the track. The first was the best of them - beaten a nose when she led - and Bates is reunited from that. Uses the inside barrier and is sure to take beating. MISS XTRAVAGANZA (9) comes out of the same race and didn't get warm from a wide barrier. She will have to do it the hard way again, but she has plenty up her sleeve, and the leading course striker (John Allen) is engaged. KITTYHAWK (7) missed a whisker here three back with Coffey engaged, but has been plainer at the track her two since. Coffey goes back on, and from a low gate, she will get every chance to turn things around. THE CLIMB (11) made sharp improvement placing here second-up. Strips fitter and is also in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Shay's Way to win.
NORTHAM: RACE 6 @ 4:35 PM
ENCHANTED STAR (6) clocked some good splits late to get over the top and score over 1200m at Pinjarra, winning by 1.2L. The rise in trip looks suitable for her and while she's likely to be back in the run yet again, she can get over the top to win again. DELICATE RULER (1) led them up first-up at this track and trip to just miss in a photo finish at this track. He has the speed to offset the sticky gate and with Nettle's 3kg claim on top, he'll be hard to run down with the added fitness on his side. ROCK DEE JAY (8) was good off a 90-day break here last start when finishing behind Delicate Ruler. He maps for a similar run this time around and he's expected to have come on from that effort. Won't be far away. YOUGIVEMECHILLS (7) is better than he showed last start when disappointing as he favourite and can improve with Pike on board. PIRATE'S ALLEY (4) will be fitter for two trials and although he hasn't raced in a while, he can feature in this suitable kick off point.
SELECTIONS: Enchanted Star can win again.
MT ISA: RACE 4 @ 2:34 PM
The penny has dropped for REVOLT (4) who has strung four wins together on the bounce this campaign including one over this track and trip two back. Gets some weight relief with the claim and can continue the picket fence against this line-up. HAN DYNASTY (1) has remarkably won 12 of 14 around this circuit and rarely puts in a poor one. Nicely placed to feature in the finish again. MR METRICS (2) wasn't disgraced in a much tougher contest last time out and will find this task much more to his liking. Top-three commodity. VICTORY BAY (3) has only missed a quinella spot once in eight spins around this circuit and is usually thereabouts. In the mix. RESTRICTIONS (6) next in line.
SELECTIONS: Revolt to continue on his winning ways.
