Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Muswellbrook, Sapphire Coast, Kalgoorlie, Hobart and Casterton.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 6 @ 3:55 PM

ZELESTIAL (9) imported mare starting to hit her straps with the three good wins from her four Australian starts. Stalked the speed with the 60kg before asserting her class with a tough win over 1600m at Scone. Hard to beat in this stronger contest from the good draw. GREAT POINT (11) deep into her prep and finds an easier assignment. Struck trouble on jumping and got well out of her ground when a poor twelfth over 1600m at Randwick in Highway grade. Assess on her win at Tamworth three back. SURREAL I AM (1) holding his form on the provincial circuit and strips fitter for this. Was a month between runs when a plugging seventh over 1600m at Newcastle. No excuses from the gate. ROCKBARTON FLASH (7) only the one win from six starts and expecting a better showing here after resuming on a heavy (8) track when a poor sixth over 1400m at Newcastle. Had excuses on that occasion and the Norton bit goes on for this. THE IMPECKABLE (5) improving with racing and not to be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Zelestial to keep the winning momentum going.

SAPPHIRE COAST: RACE 2 @ 1:29 PM

SIR FRANKLIN (1) broke through for his first win with a soft fresh victory at Moruya as a short priced favourite. Runner-up in four starts before that so done nothing wrong to date. Goes to 1200m now but clearly the horse to beat. WINNIE FORTUNE (7) had support at odds and hit the line well when runner-up at Moruya two weeks ago. Placed in three of four runs here and is a good chance again. DENI GAL (2) doesn't win out of turn but she did just that at Moruya on Monday. Hard to leave out of the chances now she's back in form. DRAMA DODGER (3) can show up while SWEET ABOUT ME (8) is open to improvement.
SELECTIONS: Sir Franklin to win.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 2 @ 1:24 PM

HEAVY METAL (5) has shown some promise in her career thus far despite still being a maiden. She's tackled some strong races in her time and should relish this easier maiden with Pike hopping on board. Can be handy from the barrier and if she runs up to her recent ratings, she'll be hard to beat. OUR DESPERADO (3) was edged out in a photo finish as favourite here last start, continuing his solid run of form. The wide draw hurts, but he's shown he has the speed to cross in recent efforts and it wouldn't surprise to see him go one better with Faithfull in the saddle now. LUMINOUS LADY (10) was solid on debut here behind Our Desperado a fortnight ago. She closed off well after being slowly away, but she'll be better for the run and improvement is in store. SHINE AND BURN (6) can improve on the first-up performance. JEKYLL ISLAND (2) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back dropping in trip.
SELECTIONS: Heavy Metal is the one to beat.

HOBART: RACE 4 @ 1:50 PM

OLIVE GIRL (3) brought strong form to resumption and was a run short following a long spell. She easily won an Open 2 here at her only second-up outing and wasn't far away at Stakes level after. She can win on a quick back-up and drawn inside. NAVARRE RIVER (1) resumed and finished alongside the above in that contest. She's also proven second-up and has more to give. MATERIAL MADAM (5) resumes and she ran her best race before the break. Maps well and she's trialled well with race rider Pires in the saddle. A chance if presented on song. SHE'S SLICK (7) comes out of the Olive Girl race and did a solid job given that she settled last from a wide alley. Gets in well with the 2kg claim and she showed enough early doors to consider. TRANSOM (8) is third up and has trialled well since the run here 35 days ago. She can go better.
SELECTIONS: Backing Olive Girl.

CASTERTON: RACE 4 @ 2:53 PM

THE MIGHTY SPAR (1) is the one they all have to beat today. Won by 2 len as favourite here last time in a similar race, and sets the standard once again today. Can make it four on the bounce. FABALOT (2) won a maiden chase two back at Terang then wasn't disgraced in much tougher at Warrnambool last time in. Back in grade today and can make presence felt. CARNAMAH (3) has shown a bit over the sticks and is worthy of consideration in this small field. PRESSFAL (4) led the top pick for a long way last time and was only beaten 2 len. Should be prominent throughout again here. DR DEPENDABLE (5) looks the outsider.
SELECTIONS: No reason to jump off The Mighty Spar.
