Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 30.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Taree, Pakenham Synthetic and Alice Springs.
TAREE: RACE 4 @ 1:55 PM
CHARLEROI (4) progressive Dundeel gelding who has made excellent progress in his first prep. Drifted further back than expected before surging late with a game second over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Looks too good for these out to the mile. BELLINI SPRITZ (9) making good progress at her two runs back. Given every chance in the run when powering over the final 50m to fail narrowly when second over 1450m at Muswellbrook. Trip suits and winning rider back aboard. ANNOINT (1) holding his form on the provincial circuit and comes here in peak condition. Back in class and stays in the mix. CATS QUARTERS (5) can contest for a place.
SELECTIONS: Charleroi to bounce back.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 7 @ 3:30 PM
GATOR (4) comes into this off the back of three-straight wins, most recently 29 days back in 0 - 58 grade at Moe. Finds another suitable race today and can be winning again. BRUTALINA (10) has been ticking over nicely this campaign, finishing 3rd at Seymour most recently. Shouldn't find things any harder here. Stick with. RANAKYE (5) put the writing on the wall when only 1.3 len off resuming at Ballarat, and looks ready to pounce today with extra fitness under the saddle. FIRE TRIBE (3) has been kept fresh for this and has the ratings to take this one out. TERESPRIT (11) couldn't back up at the second run of the campaign last start over 1200m at Seymour after winning two back at Geelong. Can bounce right back.
SELECTIONS: Gator on top.
ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 5 @ 5:10 PM
LA VESUVIUS (1) held off a late challenge to lead all the way in his local debut here 2 weeks ago. This ex-Sydney-trained gelding will only improve off that run, and he is the one to beat again. VALLEY PRINCE (2) is an honest local gelding who needed his fresh-up run behind the top pick. He always improves with racing and should finish a lot closer this time. PROPHESIER (5) finds it hard to win but is usually thereabouts. He charged late when finishing just behind the top pick in second place last start. He has a good draw and won't be far away. STRIKE EAGLE (3) was fourth in the same race as the top pick last time out. He will be spot on with his fitness here, and also gets the blinkers back on. Stick with him. RUN AND TELL (6) was not far off most of these when fifth last start. He has 2.5kg less to carry here and is capable of a top 3 finish this time. SUPER SHARP (4) will be peaking third up and has the advantage of the pole position. He too can't be ruled out of a placing here.
SELECTIONS: La Vesuvius to win.
