She added the Shuka Sho to her win in the Oka Sho to get two of the legs but missed out on the Oaks.
Kamunyak, who had started favourite and raced well in the first half of the race but seems to have suffered an injury in the second half and was eased down by Kawada who dismounted as soon as they crossed the line. Two other horses, Brown Ratchet and Lesedrama also seem to have suffered some sort of injury and were pulled up by their jockeys. We don't get the Stewards' report (at least a translated version) so we are never too sure what has happened.
It was Erika Express who finished second under a determined ride from Take-san and third home was Paradis Reine at 16/1. Sena Style was fifth and didn't get the smoothest of runs but should crop up soon.
On Saturday in Tokyo it was the three top finishers from the Yasuda Kinen who took out the top three spots in the Fuji Stakes, namely Gaia Force, Jantar Mantar and Soul Rush.
