Thursday starts the big three-day meeting for the last Classic for 2025.
There are two G2s on this first day – the May Hill and the Park Hill. The first is for 2yos and at present on top of the market is Moon Target, a Cracksman colt with Sir Mark Prescott whose regular jockey Luke Morris has the mount. Prescott is a master at placing his horses so take note. It's over the 1600m with 9 runners and of course as usual with 2yos anything can happen but Moon Target on 11/8 looks very promising. Aylin on 11/2 for Burke – D Egan is by St Mark's Basilica and Sugar Island with Soumillon coming over to ride for Aidan O'Brien's runner Sugar Island who has a star-spalngled pedigree being by Dubawi out of a Galileo Mare and they are on 15/2.
The Park Hill is over 2900m for f&m and has 11 runners. The Gosdens have Danielle who has finished second in her last three starts so it will be up to James Doyle to try and get her up to the first spot. Sir Mark Prescott saddles Consent with Morris on board and as above respect his choice of race – currently on 3/1. Elena Ocorio is 6/1 for Twomey – W Lee.
The weather is mild with possible showers but the sun should also appear and it is pretty much the same for the next two days.
