What a weekend - top racing all over the place.

Starting off with Saturday at Haydock where Big Mojo under William Buick caused an upset winning the Sprint Cup G1 at odds of 16/1.  Kind of Blue was second at 12/1 and Flora of Bermuda third at 22/1 so if you had the trifecta you could probably retire!  One run to retrieve from the debris was Inisherin who finished sixth just behind the favourite Lazzat.

On Sunday at Longchamp it was the Arc trials on going that was good to soft.  The Prix Foy saw a lot of happy Japanese faces wen Byzantine Dream 11/1 saluted under Oisin Murphy who was riding for Japanes trainer Sakaguchi-sensei.  Sosie was second, Almaqam third and Los Angeles fourth.

The Prix du Moulin de Longchamp G1 over 1600m saw the supplementing of Sahlan prove a wise move as he won defeating Rosallion in a photo and The Lion in Winter showing a good return to form running third.

The Prix Vermeille saw Aventure put in a good performance to win from Gezora and Bedtime Story woke up in time to take third with Whirl a bit of a disappointment.  There were only six runners so we can't tale that much from the race.

The Prix Niel saw Caulificar at his best under William Buick as they manipulated their way through a narrow gap and went on to defeat Bay City Roller and Parachutiste.  Again a small field but Cualificar has been improving with each start of late so that win is worthy of notice.

Baden-Baden was again the focus of German racing at the end of their Grosser-Woche. Geography was favourite and obliged in the 92nd Brunner-Oettingen Rennen G2 finishing 2 ½ lengths in front of Short Final 10/1 and Quebec 17/1.

The 155th running of the Grosser Preis saw Goliath regain his top form to beat Dubai Honour by 1 ¼ lengths with only 6 runners which for a G1 race is a very small field.
