Galway always provides some fabulous racing and so it was on Monday.

The feature went to Filey Bay who finished off the 3400m trip as if it were a 1000m, flying through a gap and getting a dream run down the rails in order to finish 4 ¾ lengths in front of Mon Coeur, the second horse who started at 12/1.  Filey Bay on 7/1 was an emotional win for the jockey Alan O'Sullivan whose brother Michael dies so tragically earlier in the year.

Ragman's Corner 25/1 was third and Dawn Rising 18/1fourth.  Our roughie Plontier raced very well but was carried wide coming into the straight and finished sixth and the stablemate favourite Too Bossy For Us found the weight just too much.

On Tuesday the Mile wet to Dunum under veteran jockey Seamie Heffernan and gave trainer Natalia Lupini the biggest win of her career to date.  He finished a head in front of Bear Profit 11/1 and Orandi 6/1.   Provided all is well after the race he may return on Sunday.

Wednesday's feature is the Galway Plate, one of the highlights of the week and the Gr 3 Chase has 22 starters.  Lof buz around Nurburgring – Joseph O'Brien trains and J J Slevin rides and they are a long way ahead in the market.  From the rest of the field the pin has landed on Anyway with long-time stalwart Mr Derek O'Connor in the irons for David Budds and they are on 17/2.  A Mullins-Townend runner on 18/1 is too good to ignore so we've got him in and then one of Gordon Elliott's several runner Three Card Brag with Jack Kennedy riding is on 14/1 which also is tempting.
