King’s best bets - 11th November 2025

Sam King is back with two selections on Tuesday.

There were no top marks handed out for originality when it came to yesterday's winning selection, but nevertheless, it was nice to get a 2pt winner on the board, even though it was only an even-money shot. As they say, an even-money winner is better than an even-money loser.

The National Hunt season is well underway now and I'm trying to get into the swing of things, especially with there being no all-weather action to take my mind away this week.

My first selection on Tuesday comes from Lingfield, where I'm hopeful that the unexposed and lightly raced Harry Junior can strike in the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com Handicap Hurdle (2.27).

Trained by David Pipe in the colours of Brocade Racing, he struggled to feature in maiden and novice hurdles before instantly taking a sizeable step forward when switched to handicap company, keeping on at the one-pace to finish a creditable runner-up at Worcester last month.

The winner that day looks a progressive type from Olly Murphy's yard and, in all truth, a 2lb nudge up the weights should be workable for this sizeable son of Doyen, especially with the step up to two-mile seven expected to suit.

Harry Junior – 1pt Win

Odds – 15/8

Our second wager of the day comes from Huntingdon in the PricedUp Supports British Racing Handicap Hurdle (3.11).

Sharp right-handed tracks look to bring out the best in Kingston Sunflower, who stepped forward from a low-key return to take her record to four from ten over hurdles with a smooth success at Ludlow last time out.

The only mare in this field, Fergal O'Brien's eight-year-old has been handed a 7lb rise in the weights for that victory but his daughter Fern, who has already proven her capabilities in the saddle on multiple occasions, can now claim her full allowance, so she's only effectively 5lb higher here.

That 5lb rise should prove workable for this previous course and distance winner and with the ground to suit, she gets the vote to extend the winning sequence.

Kingston Sunflower – 1pt Win

Odds – 9/4
