The team looks at the action from ITV this afternoon.
Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes – Newmarket (1.15)
Brussels has something to spare over his main market rivals on the official figures, and he could take some stopping off a mark of 110. He showed plenty of speed when pegged back by Wise Approach in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and with track experienced expected to prove key, Aidan O'Brien's colt can successfully drop back to the minimum trip.
William Hill Autumn Mile Handicap - York (1.30)
Karl Burke has been exceptional with placing his top weights in big handicaps this season and Ice Max could be another to add to the tally. Despite showing mixed results in recent starts, Ice Max arrives at York back in handicap company off a workable mark and you only have to go back to last season to find him landing the Group 2 Celebration Mile by a length at Goodwood. He wasn't beaten far behind Jonquil when he was denied a clear run in the same contest this year and that form looks some of the best on offer.
Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes – Newmarket (1.50)
The sizeable Calendar Girl looked like just the type to progress through the ranks when winning a valuable sales race at Doncaster last time out. Stepping back up to seven-furlongs shouldn't suit this daughter of Advertise and she could take another step forward to land what looks like a competitive little Group 3.
British EBF £100,000 Final – York (2.05)
Karl Burke continues to have an incredible season, and he might have the answer to another valuable pot. In a race high on numbers but slightly lacking on quality, Real American might have what it takes to follow-up a taking debut performance. He looked in need of the experience when winning first time out and there should be more to come.
Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes – Newmarket (2.25)
Dropping back to seven furlongs on better ground can see Cosmic Year land the prize. Harry Charlton's classy three-year-old beat a subsequent Group 2 winner in the Listed course and distance King Charles II Stakes in May and the form of his second-place finish behind Field Of Gold in the Irish 2000 Guineas sets the standard.
William Hill Each Way Extra Handicap – York (2.40)
William Haggas has a top record at York. He saddles Mukhtalif here, who scraped home at short odds to get off the mark in a ten-furlong Newcastle maiden last time. He was a good second behind the 88-rated Response in a Haydock maiden in August and might do better now stepping into handicap company with first-time cheekpieces applied.
bet365 Fillies' Mile – Newmarket (2.57)
Precise looks like the most obvious winner. Aidan O'Brien's hugely progressive filly has looked imperious on her last two starts, winning the Group 3 Prestige Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood before claiming the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh. The form of her Goodwood win took a boost when the third landed the May Hill on her next start, while it's likely Aidan O'Brien's filly can take another step forward here.
Dragonbet Veterans' Handicap Chase – Chepstow (3.12)
James Bowen has been riding at a 40% strike rate for the last fortnight, and he might be capable of guiding Courtland to victory for his father. Father and trainer Mickey Bowen is operating at 33% for the last two weeks and going back up in trip looks like a good move following a third-place finish off this mark over two and a half miles at Worcester.
bet365 Old Rowley Cup Handicap – Newmarket (3.30)
You can put a line through Yabher's effort at Goodwood given the fact that he clipped heels when travelling nicely three-out. He looked progressive when scoring over a mile and a quarter at Sandown off 6lb lower prior and should appreciate stepping up to a mile and a half. William Haggas' contender remains unexposed and can take another step forward.
Dragonbet Persian War Novices' Hurdle – Chepstow (3.43)
The progressive Jack Hyde is taken to make his fitness edge count. He returned for his first start since April with a commanding win in a novice event at Newton Abbot last month and should come on nicely for that. He didn't jump great when fourth in a decent novices' handicap hurdle at Aintree earlier in the year and with that effort worth marking up, Fergal O'Brien's charge looks the value play.
