The colt, offered by Longview Stud, became the session's top lot after attracting strong interest from several major operations, including Amo Racing. Soon after, Godolphin added a Too Darn Hot colt from Airlie Stud for one million guineas, their third seven-figure purchase of the day.

Their most expensive purchase, lot 90, was foaled on March 3rd, 2024, and is out of Crystal Zvezda. The dam won in Listed company once and placed twice. As a broodmare, she has produced three winners from three runners including the Listed-placed Crystal Caprice. Grand-dam Crystal Star produced a number of elite-level winners including Crystal Ocean, Hillstar, and Crystal Capella.

The session highlighted Godolphin's intent to invest heavily in high-quality pedigrees and physical types, reaffirming their commitment to sourcing future stars for their global racing programme.

Anthony Stroud, representing the operation at Newmarket, said: "He was exceptional-looking and comes from a very good stud farm. By Sea The Stars, it's a Rothschild family so he was majestic in the way that he moved and walked. He was a lovely horse.

"Obviously the family works well with Sea The Stars and he really stood out for us. Sea The Stars is an unbelievable sire.

"You have to pay for the ones you really want, and he was the one we wanted. You always have to pay more than you want to because you want the horse. Godolphin has supported this sale hugely. It's only the first day and we have two more days to go."
