Cristian Demuro has picked up the ride on Sunway in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp on Saturday.
The David Menuisier-trained four-year-old was one of three horses alongside Andrew Balding's duo of Coltrane and Alkasib to stand their ground at Tuesday's stage but he will now take on a field of eight after five horses were added at this morning's supplementary stage.
A winner of the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud as a two-year-old, Sunway has surprisingly failed to find the winners' circle since and will head to Paris on the back of a disappointing effort in the Doncaster Cup last month.
Despite having shown some excellent form in Europe's top staying races over the last two season, which includes a third-place finish in last year's St Leger Stakes and a fourth-place finish behind this year's St Leger hero Scandinavia in the Goodwood Cup, Menuisier admits it remains a question mark if he will stay the marathon two-mile four-furlong distance.
"The race has filled up since yesterday, well in numbers anyway but not necessarily in the quality," said Menuisier. "It's definitely an opportunity as long as we stay the trip obviously, which is a question mark.
"He came out of Doncaster absolutely fine. With those long distance races, until you try, you don't really know if you stay but I'd like to think it's the same problem with all of them really. Coltrane is probably the one who has proven that he stays the best, but all the others are unproven over that trip.
"We feel it's worth trying really. I think the ground will be on the easy side of good no matter what. I can't see how the ground can dry out quicker than good to soft, even if there is no rain coming. It was still very soft last weekend but I don't think the ground can dry out that much in five days. The horse goes on pretty much any ground.
"Whatever the ground, it should be fine, it's just the trip that is the main question mark but he's the class act of the race really, which is why we decided to go there. Originally, I pulled him out because if there were horses of his calibre in the race, I have a doubt about the trip, so I would go to Ascot over a mile and a half and then try again in the Royal Oak because we know he stays the two miles as he proved in the Goodwood Cup.
"The extra four furlongs is a different kettle of fish but considering the weaker opposition it has to be worth trying."
David Menuisier also confirmed that Cristian Demuro would take the ride.
He said: "Sunway will be ridden by Cristian Demuro."
