Beautiful Diamond’s love affair with Ayr continued when she ran out a convincing winner of the Listed Arran Scottish Sprint EBF Fillies’ Stakes.
Trained by Karl Burke, Beautiful Diamond was looking to kickstart her 2025 campaign late in the season having disappointed when eighth in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on her sole outing so far this season.
Back at the scene of her Listed victories in the Harry Rosebery Stakes and EBF Land O'Burns Fillies' Stakes, she was sent off a 9/4 market leader under regular pilot Clifford Lee.
Always towards the fore, Karl Burke's four-year-old daughter of Twilight Son never looked to have many moments of doubt and although Star Of Mehmas attempted to put up a fight in the closing stages, she was ultimately never able to lay a glove on the eventual winner, who pulled clear late on to score by a commanding two and a half lengths.
The Mark Usher-trained Rhyme Dust ran a blinder back in third.
"She's a lovely horse and very classy," said Clifford Lee on Racing TV. "She's obviously had a bit of time off, but she's been flying and in good form at home.
"I'm delighted to win on her today. A few times she's run at Newmarket and every time she comes back a bit jarred up. She never really runs well there because of the dip and then running back uphill.
"She wins here, loves the track and this very soft ground. That's the key for her, she loves this soft ground."
