There could be some potentially-useful juveniles on show at Ascot this afternoon, with most-notably, Raaheeb making his racecourse debut. All eyes will be on the brother to Baaeed when he takes to the track but he's hardly a betting proposition and it's best to look elsewhere.

The classified stakes on the card looks like a tricky affair, so I'm happy to stick to the two-year-old division, with Watcha Snoop catching the eye in the six-furlong novice event at 3.30.

The Hugo Palmer-trained juvenile went straight into the tracker when a promising runner-up at Newmarket (July) on debut and ought to have what it takes to go one better here.

A son of Coulsty, whose progeny tends to handle some ease in the ground, he picked up well from off the pace first time out, doing all his best work late on to grab the second spot behind a well-regarded Charlie Appleby gelding in the shape of Words Of Truth.

The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye here and with Hugo Palmer amongst the winners of late, he's taken to put his experience to good use and land the prize.

The ground over at Haydock didn't exactly look like it was testing yesterday. That's good news for all punters who are looking forward to getting involved there across the three-day Sprint Cup meeting, with the majority of other courses in the country set for testing conditions over the next few days.

Our first wager from the Merseyside venues comes in the shape of Spirit Of Jeny, who might just have more to offer in the mile fillies' handicap on the card at 4.20.

Trained by Steph Hollinshead, she showed clear promise in three qualifying outings before a promising third-place finish on her handicap debut at Newmarket (July) four weeks ago. That form took a bit of a boost when the winner, who was well on top that day, followed up in fine style back at this same venue.

Having stayed on nicely at the one pace at Newmarket, this daughter of Inns Of Court should be suited by going up to a mile on a more conventional track and with further progress possible, she warrants backing from an each-way angle.
