The team bring you placepot selections from Haydock on Thursday.
R1 - Tank Bar & Live Lounge Amateur Jockeys' Handicap – (14:00)
The massively progressive Spartan Times must be respected but slight preference is for Made All, who really caught the eye when fourth in a similar amateur rider's race at Thirsk last time out. Having travelled strongly off the pace under an inexperienced rider, Made All picked up well under tender hands and heels riding. He was unable to reel in those ahead of him on that occasion, but it remained an excellent effort in defeat and with a more experienced amateur taking over in the saddle, he looks to hold solid claims.
R2 - McCoys Racing Lounge EBF Novice Stakes – (14:30)
Charlie Appleby has won the last three running's of this novice event. He saddles the German-bred Commanding Officer, who might not be towards the top of the Appleby juvenile pecking order but has shown enough to suggest he can win a race like this. This son of Teofilo shaped well over seven furlongs here on debut before running to a similar level at York and with the step up to a mile to suit, he can put his experience to good use.
R3 - Shop Local At The HiveWA1 Restricted Maiden Stakes – (15:00)
Those with experience don't set a daunting standard so it looks best to side with the newcomer Gaspacho, who ticks plenty of boxes on paper in this restricted maiden. A nicely-bred daughter of Ghaiyyath, she cost 50,000gns as a yearling and is out a smart mare called Motivate Me. It's likely that she will appreciate further in time, but she ought to give a good account first time out for a yard in red-hot form.
R4 -Book Your Venue At thetankwa1.co.uk Nursery – (15:30)
The progressive Blue To Blue was value for more than the winning margin when he scored by two lengths at Newbury a week ago. Handled by top juvenile trainer Karl Burke, this colt by Blue Point raced keenly in the early stages before overcoming plenty of traffic problems to run out a commanding winner last time. It's easy to upgrade that performance and should he handle this expected easier conditions, then a follow-up success could be on the cards under a 6lb penalty.
R5 - OW Mobile Bars EBF Novice Stakes – (16:02)
Powerhouse owners Wathnan Racing landed this twelve months ago and can do so once more with Division, who looked a surefire future winner after his debut effort at Windsor. William Haggas' charge was forced to switch wide before running on strongly to fill the runner-up spot on that occasion and looks sure to take a step forward for the initial experience. He's preferred to the penalised Thirsk debut scorer Alaminos.
R6 - British Stallion Studs EBF Reprocolor Premier Fillies' Handicap – (16:37)
Three-year-old's have claimed the last three running's of this, and they may do so once more with Hot Flame. John and Thady Gosden's filly returned from a ten-month absence by backing up her pleasing York debut success with a good second at Newmarket last time out. This well-bred daughter of Too Darn Hot stayed on well over the ten furlongs that day and should have more to give now stepping into handicap company.
