‘He can get back to winning ways’ - Sam King’s daily wagers

Sam King is back with three selections on Saturday.

All eyes will be on Sandown this afternoon, where the Coral Eclipse takes centre stage and serves up a mouthwatering clash of the generations.

While the highly progressive Prince Of Wales's Stakes hero Ombudsman commands respect at the top of the market, I'm not fully convinced that he warrants an official rating of 128 and he's taking a fair chunk out of the market at the head of the betting.

With that in mind, a small chance is taken on Camille Pissarro, who has been deserted by Ryan Moore in favour of Aidan O'Brien's Delacroix.

It's not often that Ryan Moore gets it wrong and, in all truth, neither of the Aidan O'Brien-trained three-year-olds might not be good enough to topple the older generation. However, Camille Pissarro looks to represent some value in a race that should be run to suit.

A winner of the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere as a two-year-old on rattling ground, Camille Pissarro readily doubled his Group 1 tally this season when scoring over half a furlong further in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.

He seems to be steadily progressive as a three-year-old and with the quick ground right up his street, it would be no shock were he to outrun his price under Christophe Soumillon.

1pt Win - Camille Pissarro

Odds – 10/1

In the opener, it could be tough to beat the Clive Cox-trained Kerdos, who drops in class following a fine fifth in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot.

Having unseated Christophe Soumillon on the way to the start, it's easy to upgrade that effort, while it's also worth noting that he was the only horse in the first eight to come from a single figure draw on that occasion.

He should get a good gallop to aim at here and with conditions to suit, this son of the speedy sire Profitable can get back to winning ways.

1pt Win – Kerdos

Odds – 3/1

In the finale, the progressive three-year-old Best Adventure gets plenty of weight from his rivals and rates the one to beat against horses arriving after lesser efforts.

Whilst this represents a step up in class, it will come as no shock should Andrew Balding's charge prove equal to the task.

A snug winner over course and distance when fitted with the first-time tongue tie recently, he left the impression that there could be plenty more to come from this son of Frankel.

He's 6lb higher than that latest success but with further improvement expected, he gets a confident vote to follow up from the foot of the weights with the light Joe Fanning an excellent booking in the saddle.

1pt Win – Best Adventure

Odds – 7/2
