Sam King has tipped 3/1 and 2/1 winners over the last two days and is back with three selections on Friday.
There is plenty of action to get stuck into on Friday, with the Curragh's Irish Derby meeting kicking off, while Newmarket, Yarmouth and Doncaster all host meetings in Britain.
Fledgling handler Charlie Clover has been in excellent form of late and he looks to have found a nice opening for the five-year-old Zafaan, who bounced back to form when runner-up over hurdles at Southwell last time.
A good second over a mile and a half on the flat at Southwell earlier in the season, Charlie Clover's mount subsequently raced too freely when caught without cover at Wolverhampton next time out.
You'd expect Callum Shepherd, who is well-known for his ability to settle potentially free-going horses, to bide his time here, and in what looks like a weak classified event, he can double his career tally.
1pt win – Zafaan
Odds – 5/2
The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye on Novello Lad, who looks ready to strike in the seven-furlong handicap at Doncaster (3.55) following a string of good efforts since returning from a wind-operation.
Trained by Paul Midgley, this well-seasoned sprinter has been knocking on the door of late, including when beaten half a length into second over course and distance recently.
That effort can be upgraded too given he suffered notable interference coming out of the stalls, causing the four-year-son of Mehmas to race more freely than ideal in the early stages.
He ran from 1lb out of the weights that day and back off his current mark, he gets a confident vote to get back to winning ways at the chief expense of Age Of Baroque, who justified strong market support when scoring at Southwell last start.
1pt Win - Novello Lad
Odds – 13/8
Up at Newcastle this evening, Herakles looks worth siding with in the finale (8.40).
Trained by Paul Midgley, who landed the same contest twelve months ago, Herakles posted his best effort in some while when denied a neck at Pontefract last time out.
He hasn't entered the winners' enclosure since scoring over five furlongs at Ripon this time last year, but that success came off a mark of 66 and he's still 6lb lower here despite being raised 3lb for his narrow runner-up effort earlier in the month.
A two-time course and distance winner, the return to this venue will clearly pose no problems, while Mark Winn should have plenty of options from stall eight, which is nicely positioned more towards the often-favoured stands' side rail.
1pt Win – Herakles
Odds – 5/1
