Race 1

Race Summary: THE MARQUEE produced an eye-catching finish on debut. If he can get going in time he can score. But this Maiden Plate has attracted a big field with plenty of unexposed individuals - follow the betting markets closely. EASTERN HIGHLANDS (gate No 1) and JOHNNY BOY (drawn widest) have shown potential and need to be respected.

Selections:
#8 The Marquee, #3 Place Of Practice, #5 Quarter Master, #13 Johnny Boy

Race 2

Race Summary: GREEN GLOW produced a strong finish after racing at the back of the field on debut. He has room for good improvement. CHEERSCHEERSCHEERS is still learning what it is all about. He looks to have the pace to overcome his draw and could be the one to catch. MOUNT KENNEDY is bred to appreciate more ground and could show more in his second start. WINDOW TO MY SOUL improved again in his last start and can threaten. GIMMETHEGOLD gave the impression he could do with more distance when staying on from the back of the field on debut. Having drawn well he can feature.

Selections:
#9 Green Glow, #13 Cheerscheerscheers, #11 Mount Kennedy, #4 Window To My Soul

Race 3

Race Summary: MISS TWINKLE has been brought along steadily and her connections reaped the rewards last time. She can follow up on her impressive win even if meeting a Class 4 field this time. SPINMYANGELSSPIN showed good resolve to beat a well-backed form runner last time. She too is open to more improvement. SASCHA'S DREAM was in good form before a break. She is back over a suitable distance and must be respected. SAINT BRIGID made progress in her local debut and should prefer the extra. She has also drawn well to boot. More can feature.

Selections:
#3 Miss Twinkle, #6 Spinmyangelsspin, #8 Sascha's Dream, #2 Saint Brigid

Race 4

Race Summary: Rafeef colt COGNAC won his debut as he liked. He has good natural speed and should enjoy the course but he takes on hard-knocking rivals. CIRCUMBENDIBUS has been holding form nicely. He was hampered in his last start but could get better luck on his racetrack debut. MAGIC SURPRISE ran a fair race when tested in a C Stakes race on the Polytrack. He is one from one over the course and distance. INTREPID caught the eye in his last try and benefits from a 4kg apprentice claim this time. LUNELUCK and MIGHTY ZAMBEZI are capable of turning in bold performances too.

Selections:
#4 Cognac, #7 Circumbendibus, #5 Magic Surprise, #6 Intrepid

Race 5

Race Summary: Classy field that includes Graded sprint race winners I AM GIANT and CATS PYJAMAS. Both are strong performers at this venue and need to be taken seriously even if prepping after layoffs. FUTURE VARIETY has blossomed since racing in this province and is out to make it four wins in a row at this venue. O'TENIKWA must get rewarded as he has run two crackers in a row and he has done well racing after a rest. Watch out for KING OF THE GAULS who can show good pace from start to finish. Youngster COUNT OF ROUEN carries a light weight and comes into it.

Selections:
#7 Future Variety, #10 Cats Pajamas, #6 O'Tenikwa, #5 Count Of Rouen

Race 6

Race Summary: High-class three-year-old WHISPERING DEATH makes his seasonal debut. He has been rested and gelded but could win even if in need of it. Another classy sort, ON MY HONOUR, has lifted his game over ground but has also done well over this distance and needs to be respected. Rested WINTER GAMES may also prefer a bit further these days but is capable of showing good pace throughout. BRISTOL HERCULES and ACTOR are the runners with racing fitness who could run well, even if not well weighted.

Selections:
#2 Whispering Death, #8 On My Honour, #3 Winter Games, #5 Bristol Hercules

Race 7

Race Summary: Top filly QUICKSTEPGAL is back and it looks the right race for her to get back to business. She was second in a Grade 1 to unbeaten East Cape filly Anotherdanceforme who won again recently. JEANNE DARC made good improvement in her second run after a rest and the form line was franked last week. She has drawn widest, but nevertheless rates a serious contender. Watch out for LADYOFDISTINCTION who showed talent before a long layoff. She needs to be watched. Stablemates MAGICAL VIEW (best weighted) and WARRIOR ROYALE aren't without claims either.

Selections:
#6 Quickstepgal, #9 Jeanne Darc, #5 Ladyofdistinction, #1 Magical View

Race 8

Race Summary: The Michaelmas Handicap looks wide open. GO GRAYSON GO ran out an easy winner of soft ground and can repeat, especially if the going comes up soft. But Highveld raider PIONEER SQUARE is also a free-striding frontrunner that could make things tough up front. JOHNNY THE THIEF may have gone a bit far in his last start. He has run well after a rest before and must be respected. CORRUPT will have fitness on his side if judged on his last two performances. He could take advantage. DOWN TO BUSINESS is another that should improve. More classy sorts are prepping but could be dangerous.

Selections:
#9 Go Grayson Go, #11 Pioneer Square, #4 Johnny The Thief, #3 Corrupt

Race 9

Race Summary: BUDDY BOY was impressive when trying ground in his second start. He could be hard to beat if taking to this track. But this is a tougher race and he will need to improve. JAZZ FESTIVAL is capable of a big finish and ran a most encouraging race after a rest. TURBO TWENTY has been fluent when winning his last two but a wide draw is a concern. MOHAVE PRINCE looks capable and is worth another try over the distance. MAGMA MAGIC and BANHA BRIDGE are both capable of taking home decent prizes.

Selections:
#2 Buddy Boy, #3 Jazz Festival, #10 Turbo Twenty, #5 Mohave Prince

Race 10

Race Summary: IMPERIAL POWER takes a drop in class and as he enjoys this track must rate a serious contender, even if giving weight to all. VIVA SPIRIT gave signs in his penultimate start he could be coming back to form. He should prefer racing back on the turf. KIMBALL O'HARA is holding form and could prefer the step up in distance. He has drawn well and must not be discounted. GOTTA GO EDDIE has been earning but the drop in distance could see him get closer. VILA VICOSA is capable but needs to get the timing right. More can earn.

Selections:
#5 Imperial Power, #3 Viva Spirit, #2 Kimball O'Hara, #4 Vila Vicosa

Best Win: #2 WHISPERING DEATH
Best Value Bet: #5 IMPERIAL POWER
Best Longshot: #5 IMPERIAL POWER
