Race 1
Race Summary: LYRICAL GANGSTER improved to finish in the money on his 3yo debut after a break and he will likely have a role to play if building on that pleasing reappearance. Newcomers THESHOWMUSTGOON and STORMIN ATTACK are respected on debut, especially if the market speaks in their favour. CARIBBEAN GOLD and recently gelded ONE CAPE are others to note in the betting exchanges.
Selections:
#8 Theshowmustgoon, #4 Stormin Attack, #3 Lyrical Gangster, #2 Missouri Flame
Race 2
Race Summary: ASTRONOMICAL BOY and IN MOTION improved with the benefit of introductory outings to finish in the money last time out and they should play leading roles with further progress expected. FREQUENT TRAVELLER, AIN'T NO SUNSHINE, BEWARE and ERIKS LOVE are well-bred newcomers with earning potential and any market support would speak volumes of their chances on debut.
Selections:
#10 Astronomical Boy, #4 Frequent Traveller, #8 In Motion, #6 Beware
Race 3
Race Summary: TAYLOR'S VERSION, UP IN FLAMES and SESAME have the form and experience that should stand them in good stead. LA PATRONA and CHAMPAGNE BLAZE (blinker strike) made marked improvement from run one to run two and both should have a say in the outcome if building on that progress over this extended trip. WORLD VICTORY, RED STATE, HOW RIGHT YOU ARE and VIVO PER LEI can also get into the picture.
Selections:
#1 Taylor's Version, #7 Champagne Blaze, #3 Up In Flames, #8 La Patrona
Race 4
Race Summary: A case can be made for each. Well-related 3yo VAPOUR TRAIL stayed on to finish a close-up 3rd in a 2yo Grade 3 over 1500m and will have more to offer this term. However, it could pay to follow the progress of lightly raced CHASINGTHERAINBOW who completed a hat-trick before a 15-week absence and is probably better than rated. Fellow lightly raced 4yo rivals GOLD DUST, PINOT GRIGIO, WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN and TENPENNY are also maturing and could improve to be competitive.
Selections:
#6 Chasingtherainbow, #1 Gold Dust, #8 Vapour Trail, #2 Pinot Grigio
Race 5
Race Summary: Well-related FUTURE FREE beat older rivals when winning over 1400m last time and the runner-up has since finished 2nd. He will be better suited to this extended trip and, with the expected improvement, is likely to follow up on his post-maiden debut. BATON ROUGE and familiar foe STATE CAPITOL have the form and experience to trouble the selection, as do veteran MY BESTIE and hard-knocker COSMIC RHYTHM.
Selections:
#8 Future Free, #1 Baton Rouge, #5 State Capitol, #4 My Bestie
Race 6
Race Summary: Veteran DEAN STREET backed up the victory in his penultimate start with a good 2nd under a penalty (career-high mark) last time and a repeat of that performance could suffice against this opposition. Lightly raced 4yo geldings UN BEL DI and ARCTIC WIZARD (recently gelded) are consistent at this level. Both have the means to make life difficult for the older hard-knocker. Best-weighted FESTIVAL CHIC, recent KZN hat-trick scorer PAPILLON BLU and returning last-start winner CHAMPAGNE KISSES complete the shortlist.
Selections:
#1 Dean Street, #4 Un Bel Di, #3 Arctic Wizard, #6 Champagne Kisses
Race 7
Race Summary: Unexposed 3yo colts DREAMWORLD and ROLAND GARROS won 2 of their 4 starts during promising juvenile campaigns and are open to improvement on their reappearances. Returning THREE TIGERS is closely matched (on a line through Grade 3 Langerman winner Absolutely Yes) so he too should be competitive after a 15-week absence. Course-specialist OLIVER and filly MISS WORLD aren't taken lightly.
Selections:
#1 Dreamworld, #6 Three Tigers, #4 Oliver, #5 Scottish Kiss
Race 8
Race Summary: This won't take much winning and hard-knocker TAMBOURINE MAN will likely go one better with a repeat of his last performance (2nd). LOVERS LANE, CHAMPAGNE MAC, PRINCE OF TIBET and GRAVITY are consistent at this level and should acquit themselves competitively. OZARK and WORLDLY can get into the picture too.
Selections:
#8 Tambourine Man, #5 Worldly, #9 Lovers Lane, #3 Prince Of Tibet
Race 9
Race Summary: GIMME WHAT I WANT and TULIP FIELDS confirmed the promise of their encouraging debut displays by winning last time out and both should have more to offer. Fellow last-start winners MISS WILLIAM and SPLASH OF COLOUR fit a similar profile and will likely make their presence felt. RIKKITIKKITAVI and MARITZBURG MEMORY also have the form and experience to be competitive.
Selections:
#4 Gimme What I Want, #10 Tulip Fields, #5 Maritzburg Memory, #8 Miss William
Best Win: #8 FUTURE FREE
Best Value Bet: #6 CHASINGTHERAINBOW
Best Longshot: #6 CHASINGTHERAINBOW
