Race 1
Race Summary:
MOHAVE PRINCE showed decent potential taking well-bred newcomer Green Gateway to the wire. He is quickly tried over a bit further and can open his account as he hasn't drawn badly. WONDERFUL TONIGHT also showed ability. He was making his debut when beaten under a length by highly regarded Deandre's Dream. That was on the Poly but being a young horse he could be open to good improvement on turf. CARNARVON showed good toe before lacking extra but finishing not far off promising Big Joe. He has drawn well and should be right there. MASTER DU ROUVRAY must have a say too.

Selections:

#4 Mohave Prince, #6 Wonderful Tonight, #3 Carnarvon, #11 Master Du Rouvray

Race 2
Race Summary:
CATCH A PENNY can finally get it right. She has run some very good races including in her last start and rates the one to beat. The rest will need to make solid improvement to beat her. OMNIA didn't enjoy the distance last time. She could settle better and turn in a better effort. SPLASH OF LOVE hasn't done badly and is open to improvement. INTRO has had many chances but has been consistent and should be in the fight for prize money. There are newcomers in the hunt, so follow the betting market closely.

Selections:

#7 Catch A Penny, #3 Omnia, #6 Splash Of Love, #2 Intro

Race 3
Race Summary:
SOLAR SAIL earned a high rating when third in the SA Derby. That was over 2450m but he has won over the distance and is very well weighted. Another Highveld raider TWO MILES WEST has solid form and if he also doesn't need the run after a rest he could be a big threat. He is carded to run earlier. GO GRAYSON GO is in good form and holds the fitness advantage. He could gallop this field into the ground. MASTER JOSH is not as well weighted but he has run well after a break and is one that could challenge for the lead.

Selections:

#3 Solar Sail, #6 Go Grayson Go, #7 Master Josh, #4 Two Miles West

Race 4
Race Summary:
CAPRICIOUS MISS looks well placed. She suddenly made good improvement when switched to the Poly but with her confidence boosted and jumping from draw one can go one better on Turf. CHERICHERILADY brings fair Highveld form into the race. She can only improve with time but a wide draw will make it tough. SOL NOMARA didn't settle over further last time. She showed some potential in her penultimate start. QUEEN OF THE SPEAR hasn't drawn badly and could make a positive start for her new yard. RED LHASA is another with scope.

Selections:

#1 Capricious Miss, #11 Chericherilady, #9 Sol Nomara, #4 Queen Of The Spear

Race 5
Race Summary:
One of the tougher races and it may pay to go wide. LIONS EYE wasn't beaten far on the Poly in his last two. He could prefer the return to the turf. WHEREEVERILAYMYHAT is another that looks better suited to this track. He too won his Maiden easily here. ONE IRISH ROVER should be right there on recent form. He won his last try over the distance and runner-up PURPLE POWAHOUSE franked the form. The latter is evergreen but he has yet to win on the turf. NDAKA is back to his best distance and could suddenly pop up along with BOOM SHAKALAKA who has a 4kg apprentice claim.

Selections:

#2 Lions Eye, #6 Whereverilaymyhat, #4 One Irish Rover, #5 Boom Shakalaka

Race 6
Race Summary:
STAR IN MOTION won his Maiden as he liked. He is a well-bred individual and has improvement to come. Fellow young three-year-old CARDINAL CHIEF showed good resolve to catch the frontrunners last time. He should go the distance on pedigree and must be respected on handicap debut. RUN FOREST RUN is another lightly raced sort with claims. He has shown after a rest and needs to be taken seriously from gate one. RALPH THE RASCAL could get the race run to suit. He needs a fast pace to prove effective. PHUTULICIOUS is back over a suitable distance and can show.

Selections:

#5 Cardinal Chief, #6 Star In Motion, #1 Run Forest Run, #7 Ralph The Rascal

Race 7
Race Summary:
The two Highveld raiders could fight it out. KING OF NUMBERS met a fair type in Obsidian last time. He has gate one on track debut and could make it count. SEA SHANTY has not drawn as well but he has solid recent form from wide draws on the Highveld. He may reward supporters again. WING WALKER is out to make it three wins on the bounce. Both wins were on the Poly but he has run well on the turf. GRIFFIN PARK could be the dark horse in his first try over 1400m. He is bred for it and having drawn well could go well off a light weight. SWEEPER KEEPER could be next best.

Selections:

#8 Sea Shanty, #1 King Of Numbers, #5 Wing Walker, #2 Griffin Park

Race 8
Race Summary:
HAPPY FORTUNE has held form on the Polytrack but may be reserving her best for this turf track. She won her Maiden beating a useful field over the course and distance. PURPLE FLOWER produced an eye-catching performance to win after a rest. She carries a light weight and could finally win on the grass track. UBUKHWEBEZANA won a thriller on a big raceday before a break. If she is in the same mood she should run well if not just in need of it. PROM QUEEN is holding form nicely and if getting the race run to suit could overcome her draw in time. JAZZ CAFE rates the dark horse.

Selections:

#8 Happy Fortune, #3 Purple Flower, #5 Ubukhwebezana, #11 Prom Queen
