Race 1
Race Summary: Trainer Dean Kannemeyer has some decent runners on the day. TULIP FIELDS came in for support on debut but had things go wrong. She did well under the circumstances and could go on to score second time out. BELLIGERENT is also going about it the right way. She got into the money even though jumping slowly and if not preferring more ground could be in the fight. WINTER BLESSING showed up well over 1400m but has gone close over 1100m and needs to be respected from a decent barrier. LOVE THE USA has the best of the draws and is another who needs to be taken seriously.
Selections:
#12 Tulip Fields, #13 Belligerent, #3 Winter Blessing, #1 Love The Usa
Race 2
Race Summary: MFETHU showed good pace on debut. He is a well-bred son of Vercingetorix who should come on in leaps and bounds. BOARDWALK BREEZE has run two good races in a row and he finished second to a decent sort in Chapbook. He rates a lively chance. But it doesn't stop there. There are some well-bred newcomers who need to be watched. EXOCET is from a precocious family and could be the one to attract support. COWBOY COUNTRY is a half-brother to class sprinter Pistol Pete and has drawn well and he too could be talented.
Selections:
#7 Mfethu, #9 Boardwalk Breeze, #8 Exocet, #3 Cowboy Country
Race 3
Race Summary: R1.8-million purchase GALLIC VICTOR makes his debut for Dean Kannemeyer and the connections of Hollywoodbets Durban July hero The Real Prince. He is immediately tried over 1400m and has drawn ideally in gate No 1. DIRECTOR is coming along nicely and after finishing runner-up in his second outing is looking to go one better. The filly SPLASH OF LOVE has decent form and also benefits from a 3kg sex allowance so must come into it. Many can improve over the longer trip. ENGELANDPARK should improve and may need further still.
Selections:
#3 Director, #1 Gallic Victor, #7 Splash Of Love, #9 Engelandpark
Race 4
Race Summary: ROOSTER BRADSHAW has shown the versatility to win on both turf and Polytrack. His last win was impressive, and he can follow up. But it is quite competitive. RALPH THE RASCAL produced a good finish to get back to winning ways last time. He could get a good pace again and his wide draw may not be an issue. GRAND APPEAL has also drawn wide. He made good improvement last time and should be suited to the extra. DANCING ON A CLOUD has disappointed a little but could get his confidence boosted now dropping in class. KIMBALL O'HARA and LUCKY DOLLAR must be respected. More can take it.
Selections:
#7 Rooster Bradshaw, #11 Ralph The Rascal, #12 Grand Appeal, #3 Dancing On A Cloud
Race 5
Race Summary: Ultra-competitive race. TOBACCONIST only found one better in classy filly Tomyris on Hollywoodbets Durban July day. He should have every chance having drawn well again. JP'S PALACE wasn't far off him and is another useful sort with something to come. But UZWANO has been producing amazing finishes on the Poly. He could take over again if not minding the switch to turf. SERPENTINE FIRE is getting better as he is maturing. He is up in class but has gate No 1 and could make it count. BRISTOL HERCULES, KAYGEE'S DELIGHT, TERMINATOR and GO GRAYSON GO should be right there too.
Selections:
#3 Tobacconist, #5 Uzwano, #1 Serpentine Fire, #6 Bristol Hercules
Race 6
Race Summary: TERIYAKI lifted his game in the KwaZulu-Natal Breeders 1200 finishing third. If in the same mood he can add to his tally even if having drawn wide. PRANKSTER was made use of in her last start going clear and did not throw in the towel. She could well follow up for a stable in good form. NOW I GOT YOU is holding form well. Like TERIYAKI his job may be made easier with a 4kg apprentice claim. WILLOW GEM should enjoy racing in Class 5 company after running in juvenile feature events. JANE'S VISION, ULTRA QUICK and DAWN SURPRISE could get into the money.
Selections:
#9 Teriyaki, #8 Prankster, #3 Now I Got You, #7 Willow Gem
Race 7
Race Summary: RIVERSTONE was expected to go better in his second run after a rest but had things go wrong. He could finally show his true form. LICENCE TO THRILL has a solid record over the course and distance and should give a good account of himself against this line up. GORGEOUS GUY won as he liked with a big weight. He is now going up in class but carries a light weight and must be included. GOOD TRAVELLER has the best of the draws and is another that cannot be ignored. MAPHAKA is highly regarded and impressed at this course earlier. He could be ready after a rest and gelding.
Selections:
#10 Maphaka, #8 Riverstone, #6 Licence To Thrill, #11 Gorgeous Guy
Race 8
Race Summary: IN THE BAG made an encouraging return to form on local debut. He should prefer the extra and should get closer. MOYA WA LALIGA can be hard to beat at his best. He now has a 4kg apprentice claim and could take advantage. Both have drawn fairly well. MASTEROFTHEDESERT is honest and should run well over the distance. But he has drawn widest. One to watch out for is MY ARCHANGEL who is capable and could find form having drawn well. Last start winner INDECENT PROPOSAL and consistent MAR DEL PLATA are worth including in exotic bets.
Selections:
#6 In The Bag, #5 Moya Wa Laliga, #12 Masterofthedesert, #3 My Archangel
Best Win: #12 TULIP FIELDS
Best Value Bet: #6 IN THE BAG
Best Longshot: #6 IN THE BAG
