Greyville Picks - Friday, 27 September

Racecourse : Greyville
Racecourse : Greyville Picture: goldcircle.co.za

Race 1
Race Summary: The United States-filly CORAL BLAZE has some decent Western Cape form and, as she shows good pace, could be suited to the track. TAKATALVI showed she can lead and also stay on with an improved run in her third outing. She can keep on improving. MAGIC MAVERICK should go well from a decent draw but she needs to find more for the win.

Selections:
#5 Coral Blaze, #6 Takatalvi, #2 Magic Maverick, #4 Gale Force Nine

Race 2
Race Summary: NEW FRONTIER didn't show much in an earlier poly outing but is maturing and after a decent second place behind an elder at his best should go well this time. Fellow three-year-old AMOR FATI ran like he would enjoy more ground when finishing runner-up last time. It could get close between them. It doesn't end there. Highveld raiders RASTIGNAC and CITY LIGHTS have secured the best of the draws and have shown the potential to win a race like this. Filly ARJUNA did a lot better when given ground last time and can get closer.

Selections:
#4 New Frontier, #5 Amor Fati, #2 City Lights, #1 Rastignac

Race 3
Race Summary: ZAKHO has won on both poly and turf and could be getting better with age. He is carded to run prior though. ROYAL SWAN MASTER was beaten in a close finish after coming from far back. If he jumps on terms he could get his head in front. NOCTURNAL FLIGHT runs for a stable in good form and has a say with a light weight. TROIS TROIS QUATRE can improve on the poly.

Selections:
#5 Zakho, #2 Royal Swan Master, #4 Nocturnal Flight, #6 Trois Trois Quatre

Race 4
Race Summary: FIELD MARSHAL is knocking at the door for his next win and would rate the form choice if he takes a liking to the surface. He also has a decent draw to boot. BELLA'S PABLO won his maiden with ease and could be getting better having matured. BURNING MAN beat him on the poly by a decent margin and having drawn well could have a big say again. Like FIELD MARSHAL, he is an improving youngster but with poly experience. DUKE OF AFRICA needed his last. He has shown some potential along with BLAZING LIGHT and TIN CUP.

Selections:
#2 Field Marshal, #6 Bella's Pablo, #3 Burning Man, #9 Duke Of Africa

Race 5
Race Summary: Garth Puller's team started the season off in good fashion and his filly WAY TO BURN looks to be going the right way for her next win. She should have every chance from gate 2. Highveld raider CERULEAN DANCER won a nice race from the front the last time she raced over the course and distance. She could get away having drawn well. VERMACILLI gave signs she could bag another win in the not too distant future. She has yet to win over 1600m. CALLING ALL ANGELS made some improvement last time and may enjoy the extra now. More with claims.

Selections:
#2 Way To Burn, #3 Cerulean Dancer, #5 Vermacilli, #8 Elusive Belle

Race 6
Race Summary: ISIKWISHIKWISHI came in for good support and won his maiden well enough to suggest he could make a fair handicap debut. He should every chance from a decent gate. MOVE TO PROVE improved last time and could also be on the up. LOU LOU THE LEGEND was a little disappointing but is holding form and perhaps just needs to get the timing right. DARK TIDE ran a fair race on the Highveld last week and having won on the poly must be given the utmost respect. CRESTED EAGLE could suddenly pop up with a light weight.

Selections:
#3 Isikwishikwishi, #6 Move To Prove, #8 Lou Lou The Legend, #2 Dark Tide

Race 7
Race Summary: CONNERY should have been in need of the run last time but instead skipped away to win as he liked. He could go from winning at one tough track to the next but only the race will show if he takes to the poly. MASK ON could get rewarded as he keeps on running decent races without winning. He has drawn well. INTREPID, however, has gate one and if he is back to his best he could be dangerous. GRIFFIN PARK has drawn widest but showed good pace last time and could be the one that keeps going.

Selections:
#4 Connery, #2 Mask On, #1 Intrepid, #8 Griffin Park

Race 8
Race Summary: Ultra consistent TRIPPI T is deserving of more success. He has only raced over 1000m this year but on pedigree should appreciate the 1200m. PREEMPTIVE STRIKE should keep him on his toes as he is in good form and races for a stable in hot form. IRISH LUCK has been showing good pace and just needs to get his mind on the job at the business end of the race. NOW I GOT YOU is capable but has been a bit disappointing. COMING IN HOT is one of a few that can upset in the last race of the day.

Selections:
#5 Trippi T, #3 Preemptive Strike, #7 Irish Luck, #9 Now I Got You

Best Win: #5 CORAL BLAZE
Best Value Bet: #3 ISIKWISHIKWISHI
Best Longshot: #3 ISIKWISHIKWISHI
