RACE 1 – 5 THUNDER HERO

From a wide draw last start, he was forced to settle well off the speed but still ran on strongly for fifth over this track and distance, despite a slow tempo that disadvantaged backmarkers. In his penultimate run, he showed good early speed from a low draw and was only beaten 0.75 lengths into second, suggesting he can bounce back anytime in this grade.

RACE 4 – 5 FAMILY DELIGHT

After finishing a close second two starts back, he endured a luckless run last time out, travelling three-wide on the speed before fading to sixth over 1775m at this track.

Now dropping in the ratings, he finds himself well placed in Class 4B, and with a more economical run he should be capable of a much improved performance.

RACE 5 – 4 ROCKY PEGASUS

Last time out he showed little off the speed and finished 4.75 lengths back in eighth over 1600m, though the post-race vet report confirmed he returned lame in the near-fore — a run best forgiven. Two starts ago, however, he outperformed his rating to finish third in a 3YO feature, and on that effort he certainly warrants another chance this week.

RACE 10 – 10 RAIKOU

After a luckless debut when caught wide throughout and finishing fifth, he improved last time with a solid fourth over 1200m despite being hampered by an awkward draw. Stepping into an Open Maiden now looks a smart move, as he is well weighted in a weak field and shapes as a strong contender — provided he can see out the mile.
