Leading trainer Jason Ong holds the key with a couple of strong stable representatives in the high grade 1200m Supreme A contest (Race 7) at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday.
Pacific Vampire and Filial Dragon are racing at the peak of their powers currently and are set to provide an enthralling clash. PACIFIC VAMPIRE is coming off a dominant victory when leading throughout over 1200m a fortnight ago while FILIAL DRAGON has struck career best form and is aiming for five wins in a row. The six year old made it four on the bounce with a comfortable win in the G1 Perak Gold Vase on July 13 and with the likelihood of a genuine pace from the start, the gelding is likely to figure again. PACIFIC VAMPIRE is a fast beginner which may have to work harder than normal from barrier ten with an abundance of early pace drawn towards the inside.

Super Salute is an honest campaigner coming off minor placings behind the two horses in question and the seven year old did lower the colours of PACIFIC VAMPIRE at Penang's final meeting in May. Adding to the mix is this year's G1 Tunku Gold Cup winner NOAH KHAN, who resumes since finishing 3rd behind SUPER SALUTE in the Penang Farewell Trophy.
LATIN LEGEND was a late withdrawal on vet's advice last Sunday and providing he's recovered fully from that setback, he looks on target for successive wins in the 1600m Class 3 (Race 8). The Irish bred grey has impressed with two wins from five starts in Malaysia and did defeat Selangor Mile place getter Good Star over this track and trip last start.

PLATINUM GLORY has progressed nicely on the local front chalking up three Class 4 wins over 1400m earlier in the year. The five year old was trapped wide throughout in the Selangor Mile a fortnight ago so will appreciate the class drop and will be suited by the smaller field.
Platinum Emperor returned with a fighting win over CAVALRY in a 1400m Metro A contest here on July 12 and will be targeting back to back victories in the 1600m Supreme A event (Race 9). Winning the Wilyah Silver Bowl on local debut back in February, the six year old then powered home for an eye catching 3rd in the G1 Tunku Gold Cup prior to spelling. PLATINUM EMPEROR has the scope to continue his rise through the ranks with Marc Lerner to retain the mount. CAVALRY is capable of reversing the result however and will strip fitter from that run three weeks ago. The seven year old attracted market support that day and the five time Singapore winner receives an opportunity to break his Malaysian duck this weekend. Another talented performer resuming is GOLDEN PEGASUS which hasn't started since scoring over this track and distance on May 17.
