But the Impending five-year-old was not the first to break in the Supreme A race over 1200m. It was Platinum Fort who began brilliantly, chased by Renzo.

Pacific Vampire , who likes to lead in his races, overtook them on settling down to lead the field making the turn out of the back straight.

Coming to the home stretch, Pacific Vampire was two lengths clear of Platinum Fort with Renzo losing ground third. Cinnamon Blaze, Super Salute and Kong Fu Panda were in a line next.

Platinum Fort tried but could not gain grounds on the leader and in the final 100m, it was Cinnamon Blaze and Super Salute who came charging home.

Pacific Vampire, however, had enough to spare, winning by 3/4-length from Cinnamon Blaze. Super Salute, having his second run in eight days, finished third.

"He (Pacific Vampire) is an easy ride to ride and has natural speed," said Jerlyn Seow who won on the gelding's debut in Singapore and has scored on him twice in Malaysia.

"The horse was always running on the polytrack in Singapore and it took him some time to get used to the turf track here," said trainer Jason Ong.

"Now that he's found his footing, he is getting better and better."

Pacific Vampire, winner of four races at Kranji, has now raced nine times in Malaysia for three wins, all coming in his last five runs.
