If the last few days were relatively quiet on the training front, it was a completely different story this morning at the Champ de Mars. Under glorious weather conditions, more than 100 horses ventured out for fast workouts, marking one of the busiest mornings of the season.
New arrivals stepping upAlmost all of the new horses that arrived in June continued to accelerate their rhythms, stepping up their preparations in convincing fashion. Among those that caught the eye were At My Command, Zeus, Solomon's Seal, Royal Port Louis, Fine One, and Catcha Dragon.
Eye-catching workoutsCartel Boss was all guns blazing in his 400m spurt uphill, setting a sharp chrono of 22.85s. Stable companions Daring Dash and Transonic galloped stride for stride over 1000m, both producing a strong turn of foot in the home straight.
Last start winners still in top orderBrilliant debut winner Havana Moon confirmed his wellbeing, clocking 61.76s over 1000m, suggesting he remains in excellent order. Stable mate Kaisarissa, also successful on debut, impressed in his solo gallop, stopping the clocks at 63.75s over 1000m.
Strong Pair WorkThe duo of Grand Vision and Opague teamed up for a 1000m spin, and there was nothing to separate them. Both appear to have come out strongly from their seasonal debuts.
Others Showing SatisfactionSeveral other horses also pleased in their workouts, notably Itsrainingwilliam, Greek Myth, Tyrion Lannister, Zoomie, Captain Cola, Good Council, and Gonnabealright.
